Zegras has skated with the Ducks players and coaches for a grand total of two days. He'll be a fine player in the league, but rushing him into the league before he's ready benefits no one.
I am still confused with the roster. They keep commenting that it is up to the players to prove they deserve a roster spot over the others. I am not there to see what has happened in training camp but a few that stick out to me are:
Comtois on taxi squad (extra healthy scratches)...He is much better than Deslauriers, Lundestrom, Rowney...even given the chance Steel and Jones.
Curran....Hakanpaa and Larrson I feel are equivalent. I know being on the taxi squad means they will essentially sub in and out of the line up.
Zegras…Don't even get me started! The ducks lack any real fire power up front and their powerplay is essentially a bunch of zombies with no puck movement. To me the ideal powerplay would be Jones in front of the net, Zegras setting everyone up, Silfverberg getting the quick shot off, Getzlaf unloading his hard shot from the point and either Lindholm or Fowler working the other point.
