Be good to see if their forward depth can get them through without their best forward. I think they can especially if hart keeps up his strong play.

be interesting to see Caps v Pens today, must win for Pens? Not really, but close to it. I think the Pens show up and take it.

Yeah. I want to see if the caps are for real/if buffalo is still a bottom feeder. Read the pens blog and seems they’re concerned about the goaltending. Funny how they let maf go to make room for Murray. Sour on Murray and let him go. Now who knows if the two guys they have can carry the mail. Meanwhile fleury is still solid in Vegas although splitting time with Lehner

What a dumpster fire for Columbus. Only 3 players signed past next year. Dubois wants to leave. Torts a pending free agent. Time to blow it up?

You know what? If the Flyers keep rolling the way they did against the Penguins, I don’t think we’ll know who our best forward truly is. I think Hayes and Patrick are more than capable of checking top lines. If Frost is what we’re hoping, he should slot in between Konency and Lindbom and we shouldn’t skip a beat.

Playing Buffalo the next two games are more than winnable, setting us up against Boston quite nicely. I’m also interested in watching to see how Pitt holds up against the caps. I’m gonna say GO CAPS, and hope this is the end of the Penguins dark reign!

Maybe they’re the pond you do some fishing in. You won’t get Seth Jones, which is all I want. They have to a legitimate compliment to play next to Provorov in there somewhere.

If they get Seth Jones, Provy is his partner, not the other way around.

I dont think btw Frost or NP plays top line in place of Couts. I think Hayes moves up, or Giroux plays there.

But I wouldn't mind seeing NP get a crack at the 1c, and Laughton play 3C, and Frost 4C.

Yeah they used to have a decent forward group but not much of an upgrade by getting any of them.
If anyone is worth getting it might be Domi but seems like some of the shine on him has been scuffed.
If it’s gets bad there maybe Fletch can pry Werenski away and have him play with Provy.
Most likely too expensive but worth a btw phone call.

in a flat cap era with the majority of teams facing difficult decisions in order get their roster in under the ceiling, is having 3 players signed past next year really a dumpster fire?

I don’t see any of this happening. I don’t know why we’d been interested in any of their forwards or why we think we could take Werenski if they have nothing but cap space to work with.

See, I don’t understand this mindset. All the lines are pretty balanced to the point of, there is no moving up or down. Couturier comes out, Frost simply takes his place. There isn’t any reason to Disrupt the other lines.

I don’t mind that, maybe redistribute some ice time by line

I don’t see it happening either. Werenski would be a blow it up type of deal and picks would have to be included for sure.
It wouldn’t make sense in the long term with York and Zamula getting close.
Two first rounders, Ghost and a second tier player maybe somewhere near the starting point.
It only makes sense for the immediate season. I don’t like Braun with Provy at all.
The D by committee with Provy doesn’t work for me either.
If Ghost doesn’t work then imo that’s a decent vulnerability come playoff time.

Agreed re being the end of the dark reign. I’m sure the plan is to tank again, go bankrupt and plan to get another generational talent or two.

This is asinine semantics. The poster stated to play next to Provorov.

Exactly. Flyers just need to upgrade the top pair and from there, they’re near the most balanced team in the league. I’d like them to be just a little more gritty as a group but for the most part, I don’t think we’ll be pushed around much.

Lines stay the same with frost in between tk and lindblom. Theyre now listed as the 3rd line though. Meh. Frost takes pp1 spot too.

As far as cbj. We made a run at pietrangelo. When Jones gets to free agency hes absolutely worth taking a shot at. Cause he's thst good. Other than that I dont really see us making trades. What you're getting has to be significantly better than what we have. I dont see any of those trades out there unless canes tank and sell dougie Hamilton as a rental.

I feel like the most logical course of action with the lines is to put Laughton with Lindblom and Konecny, and slide Frost in between Raffl and NAK. Even going so far as to move Raffl to center and play Frost on the wing if need be. At least to start.

This makes for the least amount of disruption, and allows the Patrick and Hayes line to continue to play together and gel.

Hayes line one, Patrick line 2, Laughton line 3, and Frost Line 4.

I guess this works. Still have the option to put Laughton there if Frost struggles.

I want them to keep the Hayes and Patrick lines in tact, so that is good.

Good point but when I saw the lines, I figure that av really likes the composition of line 4 and doesn’t want to mess with it.

Yes, and I also liked seeing Giroux with Farabee so making Frost line the 3rd makes a lot of sense.

Agree. I mentioned this yesterday but jake was everyone’s focus. Don’t see a reason to break up Hayes line. If Patrick gets moved up not sure how jvr frost and jake do in their own end. Don’t see g going back to center.

Scott can still handle some of the defensive match ups. And has some offensive abilities. I still want Oscar and tk getting a little more ice time than raffl and NAK. Then frost can slide up for a shift or two after a pp or pk.

Curious to see what the coaches do.
