You're right about being more physical. I didn't see us doing much until Konecny got physical in the first period. Got things going. Then his goal. Thanks to him.

Buffalo out shot us 40 to 30. We gave away the puck 12 times to the Sabres’ 5. This was a game that could have easily gone the other way. I’m happy with the win but the Flyers had an ugly first half where they were very much outplayed. I thought Voracek, Hayes and Braun all sucked in that first half but redeemed themself late in the game.

Also... can I say its ridiculous that buffalo coach is campaigning now for a provorov suspension ? Saying he intentionally stuck his arm out. I dont think I can remember a coach who complains so much. Sending those videos to league office might not help him as montour for the cross check when provy was down is really the suspendable play.

Took a clean hit to the shoulder from McCabe and dropped instantly.

Overall a much better effort from the Flyers. One thing that dawned on me last night is the Flyers have a lot of good 200 foot players, like TK, Patrick and Lindblom, but they don't have elite top end talent anymore, so they have to play this way every night to have chance to win. That means playing with high energy, skating harder, strong on the forecheck and good structure. Elliott had a strong game also which of course doesn't hurt when that structure breaks down. I loved watching TK last night, not just the highlight goal, but the little but important hockey plays he makes all over the rink, he gets my early vote for best player on this team. I also want to give a shout out to Jake V, he played a strong game, especially in his own end in the 3rd period. Very noticeable too how much he was skating. Now it would be nice if he played that way every game. I also liked his line with Giroux at center and JVR on the wing, I hope the Flyers can keep this line together because I think Giroux is much more impactful at center than wing. On the downside, I'm starting to dislike Braun, too many mistakes so far. I hope he can clean up his game; maybe they are asking too much from him.

You are so right with the turnovers, I don't care what the stats might say, I trust my eyes more than the statisticians, and my eyes tell me the Flyers turn the puck over a lot! I don't know if they keep a stat for this, but I think the Flyers have more "failed D-zone clearing attempts" than any other team in the league, at least it seems that way to me.
