Fire Hynes.
We went thru this crap in NJ.
We did not have a strong team but we still underperformed with him at the helm.
Devils played better under Nasreddine as interim coach last year and under Ruff this year. |

I think it’s time for a change at the top.
That’s the one that brought in this mistake of a coach, and, has been subpar at dealing for good players for a while now.
I don’t see this bunch making the playoffs. |

This is the same story from the last four years really -- including the cup run. 2018 president's trophy year, the Preds won a lot of games but they played with fire constantly the second half of the season and they got beat by WPG on home ice in 7 games while an expansion team leapfrogged them to the finals and has remained on top. They were supposed to have fixed the PP, and yet, since 2018, the Preds have scored a whopping 74 goals on the PP despite over 500 chances!!
23 years of the same stale story. Management and ownership are happy to be a middling, lunch-bucket type team and have no desire to become an elite championship team. Put GMDP in a non-hockey role, clean house, and bring in REAL hockey talent in the front office and behind the bench.

Hynes never should've be hired in the first place, but I'm not getting in to that subject again. Hire a guy who just got fried from his job a month before...
I'm not ready to jump off a bridge just yet over one bad weekend, but I still feel like I'm watching bad reruns from last season. A couple of decent games to start off mixed in with a total stinker and a couple of 'meh' games where the Preds hung around but clearly lacked punch, and ultimately the more talented and polished team pulled away and won at the end. Looking like you're clinging on for dear life all the time isn't going to win you a lot of games.
Don't know if the bullet proof glass around Poile is starting to crack or not, but this will probably be another mulligan season for him with the pandemic shortened season and cap restraints... Funny how there's always an excuse lined up for him. When a good chunk of the team was gutted in the off-season, I was looking forward to seeing some of the guys get to play, but as I feared, Poile hired a couple of rent-a-players at the last minute and now we have a new crow of bottom six forwards producing the same results as the old ones... Seriously, if Tolvy isn't good enough to make this roster, just get rid of him already. Again, it's still early, and I was expecting to see a fairly average team to begin with. A stinker of a season may finally produce the organizational shakeup the team really seems in need of right about now.

This is what happens when you saddle yourself with long term/expensive contracts for avg/good talent. Cap hell mediocrity on full display... |

Did someone let Ek know that the Preds blogger is MIA?
10 comments in 9 days? Hockey is alive and well in Nashville. Must be that everyone is getting ready for SEC spring practice. |
