Gibson has been stellar, and the Ducks got lucky on a few Av's shots that hit the post, but Silfverberg and Rackell hit the post, too, so I guess that evens out. What REALLY frustrates me about Anaheim, and it's been this way since the goal-scoring drought started, is their unwillingness to shoot the puck unless they have a grade-A scoring chance. This is especially true with the Terry-Steel-Comtois line. Three things happen when you shoot the puck on the net, all of them are good. I'm slightly encouraged that they are shooting the puck more on the PP (and that's about the only good thing about the PP) but they need to take that back to basics attitude with 5-on-5 play.
On a different note, Getzlaf can still pass the puck. That dish to Rackell was a thing of beauty! I know he wants to stay in Anaheim but I could see a team like Colorado gauging interest in Getzlaf for a playoff run. How good would he look on the Av's second line?

One other is the PK has been stellar.. Elite #1C and Rowney make a terrific pair up front ... If we can just get the PP off the snide I think we make the playoffs if both units are at around 15th or so.

I will agree the PK has been stellar! The PP has been very bad to start the season, however it did look better last night compared to past games.

The turnovers weren't as poor as in past games however there were still some key turnovers that lead to scoring chances for the Avs. For me Larrson is standing out like a sore thumb, just not making the safe plays.

I also think if the ducks get the powerplay going to middle of the line and Gibson stays healthy, they have a true shot at sneaking into the post season.

Another amazing night by Gibby last night! He was relied upon heavily in the 2nd period alone. If only we could improve the powerplay and get some more 5 on 5 scoring.
