No hat-trick for Morin, eh?

The officiating in the NHL is getting worse by the week. Even the Rags had one that I looked at and thought , that’s a penalty ? Using one arm and tapping a guy on his gloves is not a penalty. It’s slowing the game down and making it petty. Otherwise I liked watching the youngsters get some game.

Is it just me or did Morin actually have a couple of decent shifts in the third? I remember a sequence that he made a couple of nice plays to keep the puck in the offensive zone. Hopefully he can keep coming along. It's odd to see him playing as a forward, but as long as he puts in the work, he may work as an OK fourth liner when needed.

Didn’t think patty was noticeable. Wanted a little more from him.

NAK coots jvr bee and raf were all great and thought sanhiem had a good game.

Like Joel playing with coots. That line with jvr (although I wouldn’t keep jvr with coots when all healthy) are great at intercepting passes.

Hart played well. The bread man is just a great player.

Proud of their effort. Really wish we could skip this Tahoe game. Regardless of being short handed, seems silly to send a team that just had an outbreak to the west coast. Idk. Plus wouldn’t the NHL want the star power names playing?

I agree on Patrick. There were some plays that I feel he could have made things happen by just playing with more effort and confidence. He is so poised with the puck.
NAK was one of our best/most engaged players last night. Love seeing him getting more opportunities and doing well. Coots was definitely very strong and looks like he's back to himself. He's the true captain of this ship in my mind.
JVR has been a refreshing surprise this year. He's playing a well-rounded game, and is regularly creating offense now from his smart defensive plays. Love it.
I thought Hayes looked pretty good out there as well. Some off moments, but overall a solid game.

He definitely did better than his first game. But still has some worn to do. Yeah he had a really good forecheck shift I remember. But also needs to keep his shifts shorter.

Its just you. He is slow, seems to have no clue what to do out there. Speaks volumes they wont try him on D. Zero future for him on the wing with the Flyers.

Patrick looks timid and not engaged. Guess that can be expected to some extent.

Agreed on the shorter shifts. There was one in particular that he was out for way too long, but got away with it and laid a nice little body-check right before he got off the ice. Much more work to be done for sure, but it's good to see a better game than the last. That's all we can ask for with him going forward.

To me there are a couple of tell tale signs in Patrick's game that signify why he is struggling and not making an impact. As a center he doesn't have the puck enough. He doesn't push the puck towards the net to create opportunities. When he doesn't have the puck, he is not around the scoring areas and around the net enough. His play without the puck is fine but he is not engaging in the game enough.

On the final score, Coots was a demon. He dominated the shift. I don't know if anyone could have played as well.
Since this season, to me, is the final tune up for the BIG time, seeing the swarm of kids bobbing and bopping is allowing for the revelation that they are nearly ready.
The Virus may be the kick in the pants and the linchpin to forcing the foment that will give us a fully functioning NEW core.
Not that I expect a lack of hiccups. After all, they're KIDS.
That youth will be served is just being hurried a bit now. The response will be a bit chaotic but also generates excitement (in me). Plenty of visual and soul firing entertainment.
A lot of training wheels are being cast aside. The coaches will be challenged to keep the bikes erect. With several centuries of experience (OK, slight exaggeration) they will have to reformat their thinking and tinkering to comply to the reality of boundless and bounding inexperienced energetic 'youts'.
New adventures for everyone.
Adventures can turn out badly but the ride may be worth it.
Hang on! You may need more than commuter straps!

Agreed. He also seems to pass the puck away more than take it himself. Even when he has a semi scoring chance, he’ll look for pass. I always remember hearing he had a heavy shot. I’d like to see it more. But I won’t rip on the guy, the extended time away can be impacting his decision making and/or confidence.

Agree. And for the power play. For who was missing from by he line up keep firing the puck. Too much passing then the slight hesitation. Boom it’s blocked.

Good, bad, or indifferent but to me that game felt like a lot of their games this season even with their full lineup.

Agree on the stand out players mentioned but I'll throw Myers in there too. He had some real solid plays.
