It ought to be a good one. Hoping for a point, but with going a man down with the Chiarot injury last night, the late start, the schedule, I'm not too optimistic.
Oh, and the Flames are playing ok, too. |

The Bennett camp will give Sam the green light to try hard, only if they think it'll give him a chance at more ice time. He might try a little harder, but it won't be his 110% playoff effort level. There's still issues under the surface with him vs. Gaudreau, Monahan, & Tkachuk - jealousy that they got better contracts than him, and Sam probably thinks they played like crap with him on purpose.
Sutter is the 2nd best coach for Bennett - the first being Tortorella - so it'll be very entertaining to see how this unfolds, and very satisfying if Sutter sits him for the rest of games and scratches him more. I bet because Sam seems unsure of himself lately in interviews, Sutter will go soft on him at the start - but Huska for sure explained Bennett to Sutter behind closed doors, considering they scratched him they know he's playing games - but they have to be professional and be diplomatic about him with the media
It's a real shame with Sam because the Flames sorely lack quality in their bottom 2 lines, the games and non-sense with him will continue
edit: Bennett's on the 4th line - Left Wing LOL IT BEGINS!!
Johnny Gaudreau - Sean Monahan - Brett Ritchie
Matthew Tkachuk - Elias Lindholm - Dillon Dube
Milan Lucic - Mikael Backlund - Andrew Mangiapane
Sam Bennett - Derek Ryan - Josh Leivo |

I have a buddy we call Mr Hockey cause he truly does think he's an Insider haha, but he does come up with some interesting tidbits. According to him Anaheim have been wanting Bennett for a long time & had recently offered Rakell & a 2nd for Benny & evidently Flames turned that down. Interesting, personally I would have been all over that deal lol

According to TSN (Seraveli), the cost for Rakell is sky high, and CGY had some discussions about him but nothing done. If it was Rakell and a 2nd, the Flames would (should) have been all over it.

Rakell plus for Bennett??? Come on. If it involved Rakell and Bennett it would be Calgary adding a major piece to the deal not Anaheim.

@Kevin R
Yeah Friedman has been reporting Anaheim’s interest in Bennett for years now. No chance the offer was that good though. Rackell, despite trending downwards, is so good. |

That would’ve been a steal of a deal for the Flames. Realistically I think the Flames would have to include a 2nd round pick and a prospect with Bennett to get anything started.

They're probably selling Sam as a playoff must have grinder..he's probably trying to screw the Flames over through this trade.
Good for Treliving if he could get rakell + 2nd

If SJ took Kane, someone will take Bennett - they have to sell Bennett's playoff performance REAL hard, and stress he'll do well during the season when he stops sulking
Sam probably has it in his head, or gets told that he's a 4th overall pick and he's been treated horrendously too. The flipside to that is, it's how Treliving's promoting him: 4th overall pick with promise, showed flashes during the playoffs & he's disgruntled in Calgary - take a gamble with him |

get it out of your head that Sam "needs more time, and will come around eventually". Myth. A lot of Flames fans are too dense and don't critically question, why's he good in the playoffs, but horrible during the season? |

I never said that at all. It’s the fact that you post on here like you’re some sort of hockey insider when in fact you’re more like Eric Francis.
If you’re going to post matter of fact info, maybe consider posting the link. Anybody can make sh!t up. |

I heard it was the Ducks needing Bennett + a second to give up Rakell (that Tre said no to), not Rakell + a second to get Bennett |

Rakell Is the Ducks best forward. I love that the Sutter era has started and because of that alot of people think that Bennett will automatically get better at hockey. Lol. What does one have to do with the other? |
