As I mentioned on the last thread. I am happy that we at least have a Jets blogger as some teams on this site do not have a blogger at all.
Keep up the great work Anthony!!!! |

I am happy that Harkins is finally getting some playing time.
I love that guy. The guy has 60 point potential written all over him. I am also happy for Copp as he well. The guys has been phenomenal for the Jets this year.
Perhaps Rexy was right about Copp being the Center that Laine always needed.
Go Jets Go!!! |

Excited for Harkins!
Not happy with reaction to Tkachuk hit. I mean Nate Thompson comes with a reputation of being able to drop the mitts, Stanley willing...Lowry?
You CANNOT let your star players to be taking advantage of...and your Captain to boot.
Weak stuff
Don’t have to be the 80’s and 90’s again but show some sand, some heart |

The Jets deserve It and especially Wheeler for running Laine out of town, Wheeler Is a spoiled female dog as Is Scheifele. Maurice Is DONE. |
|
|
|
Typical of Maurice to upset 3 lines to replace one injured player. If he would have platooned Harkins with Lewis or Thompson throughout the season Harkins wouldn't be coming in cold. |

You and me are both aware that Maurice makes his best decisions when they occur by accident! |

The Jets can play the LTIR game too.
Now we can go big game hunting for the right defense |

Anthony Travalgia: Blake Wheeler to miss the Jets' five-game road trip - Anthony.Travalgia
Sorry for the late reply. I wasn't expecting a new Blog to be posted. Anyway, I simply asked which D you think the Jets could acquire that would not see them losing a 1st or 2nd rd pick, or a top prospect. I proposed Gustafsson, DeAngelo, Vatanen. DeAngelo being the only righty, but all of which can play full time at RD.
People knowing that I am a Devs fan who also loves to watch the Jets asked about Kulikov and Murray:
Murray is absolutely stellar as a shutdown D. He somehow holds the teams best +/- at 6, while his most common D pairing Subban has a -12....... No clue how they are so far apart when they spent the bulk of the season together. I see Murray as a slightly better skating Forbort. Otherwise not much difference in their game. Only problem is Jets really don't need a solid stay-at-home LD, when you have Stanley and Forbort doing a good job in that role already. Kulikov has been good, but I don't see him moving the needle for you guys.
Vatanen has not played well at all this season, but could probably be moved for a 3rd. He has shown over the past 4 seasons that he is capable of being a 2-3D, and plays both sides with ease. I think he could pair well with Jomo.
DeAngelo is the most skilled player in the bunch, and a true righty. To me, he would make this teams D fantastic while not costing much to acquire. I know he has his dark clouds that follow, but its just for a couple dozen games. Is that so bad?
Otherwise. Gustafsson is my pick. He really is perfect. Not on anyones radar, but Philly will be a seller, and he has to go. The guy de-throned Keith as the Blackhawks top offensive D, notching 60 points in 2019. He is healthy, and not being used right in Philly. |

Ya. I wasn't thrilled with the response from the "tough" guys last playoffs when the other tkachuk took our Scheiffs. Lowry, you are a beast and need to beat the wheels off guys who take questionable shots at your teammates. Pretty sure Ehlers has more fights than some of the Jets "tough guys". Love what Ehlers brings to the table. One night its a hatty, the next he is tossing bombs at Getzlaf. You don't have to win, but you should certainly show up! |

thank you for the report on Murray, i disagree with you though, as that is exactly what id want. a pending UFA who wont cost as much as Savard or Eqholm to be a shut down guy.
i am not high on forbot and have never been.
Murray-Pionk
Morrisey-Demelo
Heinola-Poolman
this is my playoff D top 6.

I hear you!
If the Jets want to go any place this year they need to add tome grit. Don't want to get run out of the arena like they did last year in the play-in.

I am thinking (or maybe just hoping) that the soft physical play we have seen from the Jets this year, including the non-response to dangerous/reckless hits has been a directive from Maurice. Think about it - injury bugs have so far escaped guys like Perreault, Lowry, Ehlers, Scheifele etc. When did any of these guys last play a full season?
Short, condensed season against less familiar opponents makes healthy players more critical. By containing their physicality the Jets haven't revealed all their game strengths until after the deadline when its too late for other teams to change personel. In short they haven't tipped their hand yet and will bring more of the central division style down the stretch and in the playoffs. They benefit by staying healthier and having opponents less prepared for the brand of hockey that is coming. Hopefully lots of bottled up emotion is ready to go too.

LOL. Who do you think is going to run them out of the playoffs with their grit, Montreal, Toronto or Edmonton?

Montreal has good grit and thats about it. I see it more as an opportunity to bring in a strength the other teams lack. We have enough grit for the northern division now but not enough to worry anyone else - that is why I think it would help to add.

Maybe all other 30 teams. The Flames certainly did last season.
Don't forget the Leafs added Bogosian and Simminds this season, and maybe not done yet. The Oilers will no doubt add some grit - two styles of play in the NHL - regular season - and playoffs.
The Habs - just added Eric Staal and let's not forget Ben Chiariot and Joel Edminudson.
PLD will help the Jets this year in the playoffs as well as Lord Stanley, but is that enough? I think not! |

You're so right! I wonder if his NTC includes Wpg?
His Pop played here, hopefully he had good things to say, if the Jets wish to go that route. |
