I'm expecting a Canes blowout. Canes are too good and the Wings are just mailing it in at this point.
Glenny-Pens
Bernier-Caps
Staal-Flyers
Merrill-Vegas
Gagner-Flyers
Helm-Oilers 😉 - gergeswillems
Staal flyers, I didn’t guess it but that makes a ton os sense. Helm to Oilers, you go straight to hell, MI, pick up some grape soda at the one gas station there (and by the t shirt “i went to hell”) and watch him go to Winnipeg! Say no to Uncle Kenny Helm!
Solid picks though. You’re probably right |

Avs grab Dubnyk from San Jose. Was thinking Bernier would have worked there, must be a concern about injury or a better deal. Sent Greg Pateryn and a 5th

pateryn (who we picked up by shedding ian cole’s crappy contract + degrading play earlier this season, and who’s at best a 7th dman, but he didnt even fit that fill-in role on this team) and a fifth rounder is an amazing deal.
bernier’s numbers are better even though both teams (detroit and the sharks) have struggled this year, and i would have liked bernier back. avs are now solidified at 2a though.
i wouldn’t put it passed sakic to add a depth forward before all is said and done. wouldn’t count out glendenning maybe, guess we’ll see. |

I think Joe is the next evolution of Lou Lamarillo. He makes really good deals, he will let a player walk if their attitude sucks, and has busted his butt to try and keep costs down in a cap world. I’d love to see he and Yzerman do an interview like Ozzy and Roy did a few years back. Both fantastic hockey minds. Good trade, well done |

Huge props to Gergeswillems, TB is working hard on Savard trade w/TB
What I love about Savard? He will go behind the net and be a nightmare. Most D men do a hard stop at the side of the net and wait for a play. Wish there were more like him |

I still think Tampa deals their 1st Rd pick for Savard. He'd really stabilize their RD. Columbus would have to retain 50% hence the 1st. JBB could taxi Tyler Johnson to save a mil. LTIR Rutta who's injured "week to week."
It looks like Jarmo got Ben Thomas with the 1st. Columbus retains half. |

Bernier (!/2 salary) and Ryan for a 3rd, Ryan gets LTIR til the play-offs and gets a shot at the cup! |
|
|
|
This TDL plays well into the Wing’s hands, lots of low-priced options, room to retain salary on a few guys, could even take a crappy contract back...
After the dust settles, I think Glennie’s gone. Staal MIGHT go, would’ve included Ryan but he’s down....hopefully he’s signed to another year at much lower cost, Bernie’s been named in a few blogs, but the Avs are now out. I dunno, but there definitely needs to be some movement. I still see several low-price moves, might be a big $$ contract moving (Hall’s gone, just a matter of who takes him...). No big-names for Detroit, but some names we’ve seen for a while will probably be gone Tuesday. Oh, the times they are a-changin’.... |

I’m surprised at the LTIR moves being made this year. Bag a LTIR guy, bury his salary until the play-offs then Katie-bar-the-door. Kinda sneaky. Toronto did it with Nash today. Smart move, but cheap way of skirting the rules. |

Lashoff sent to TB as part of the Savard package. CBJ got a first and third (2022), moved Savard temporarily to Detroit, who offload Lashoff and get a 4th |

Stevie Y helping out his old buddy JBB...
To simplify the math: #TBLighnting acquired David Savard at 25% of his remaining salary/cap hit while sending 1st/3rd-round picks to #CBJ and 4th-rounder to #redwings for the trouble.

After #CBJ retained 50% of David Savard's contract, Detroit retained an additional 50% of the remainder before sending him to #TBLightning.
With cap space so tight, we will see more of this kind of trade before Monday's deadline. |

Yep. We knew Detroit would depot some salary at some point. A 4th isn’t a bad price |

Lashoff is going to remain with GR. Was simply just thrown in for the process and gives Yzerman 1 more SPC to take back in other deals to free cap.
I can see Glendening going for Lafferty. Gives Yzerman the option to protect Namestnikov |

I’ve been saying Detroit could weaponize cap space. Good deal, need some good scouting for the 4th round though.... |

That's where Pat Verbeek comes in. Hopefully Kris Draper doesn't have any more sons who are draft eligible. |
