Carol Schram: Canucks keep hope alive, improve record to 3-1 since their Covid pause The Vancouver Canucks are openly talking about making a push for a playoff spot. And good for them — they've earned the right to do so after going 3-1-0 in the first week after their Covid-19 pause and following a strong 4-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night.

They don’t have to dominate, just win. Just like the first place Leafs.

Lefty is the one that wants to be like the Leafs. If that’s your goal too then power to you. I have higher expectations.

I think Ottawa will call up Filip Gustavsson, who has played games for them already this season.
Pretty crazy that they have had to go all the way into their 5th string goaltender.

Ottawa is ripe for the picking, we have them exactly where we want them.

Canucks will go 1-1 against them. Ottawa is going to be a force in a couple years. Amazing what happens when you start giving your young players an opportunity to gain some much needed experience.

Hearing the Canucks will be sending goalie Michael DiPietro to Utica.

He needs to play, this is the right move.

I think the Canucks were faking this covid thing. Benning figured out how to get a rest before the final playoff push. He’s smarter than he looks.

Really hope it comes down to that 4 game set with the Flames to close out the year, that would be some intense hockey.

Haven’t seen even the conspiracy poster stating that the Canucks faked COVID. Thx Carol! I don’t care if we make it, I just care that Flames fans are unhappy

Well done Carol!!

Good to see a decisive win over the Sens and Holtby looks to be warming to Clarke.

3/4 since the break

Maybe Benning and Miller are smarter than we think

I have no desire to be like the Leafs, I don’t have higher expectations, It was a good win last night, especially after having the poop knocked out by COVID.

I just want to see competitive games against the 1st place team or the last placed team. I will be cheering for the team to win every game, and after a win I have no plans to diminish the win because it’s the last place Sens, or fabricate excuses why they beat any team.

lol does that happen here?

We were lucky to beat Minny...
We were VERY lucky to beat the cup champs STL...
We were VERY VERY lucky to take Vegas to game 7 and almost win...

I'm sure we would have went much further with a 5mil bottom 6.

He's really tidied up his lateral movement. Not overcommitting one way or another. Going beyond Clark, I think some of it has to do with him getting used to his own teams defensive tendencies.

You brought up the Leafs man, not me. Yes, a win is a win, but they were that close to letting it slip away and going down 3-2 in the third. They playoff push crowd just needs to settle down a bit. Happy they won? Sure am, but I’m not convinced that the 3-1 record is an indication that we’re top 10 worthy.

Agreed it looks like his equipment is a bit smaller too which might be helping?
