Of course, not shocked by this, but I agree that I thought he wasn't AS bad as people made him to be, however I was questioning all those games that the team should have come out of the gate strong and were the complete opposite. That falls on the coaching staff and could be the difference as to why they are not in the playoffs. He had some good in him and I thought he handled the young players well, something that concerns me with Torts and his fiery demeanor. I think Messier or Gallant would be my first two options. |

Kris Knoblauch (no), Rick Tocchett (no way...ask Phil Kessel), John Tortorella (perhaps), Gerard Gallant (sure...if he has the heart is to coach again)and Mike Babcock (no way), Mark Messier (all for it, but Gretzky didn't do well, so this is iffy). |

Actually Drury's first act was to sign Lindgren. |

Needed a fresh start. The disconnect that was rumored between DQ and the veteran players is a problem that cannot be overlooked. He also killed the development of some younger players, as well (Lias Andersson). Time to start anew. |

I'd argue Lias killed his own development. |

No Torts please
Tortorella won't be a candidate. He already coached the Rangers and it didn't end well. |

Except for the fact that Dolan has a hard-on for Tortorella. |

why? - airjan23
He's been a bad coach
He should have been fired before the season started. His usage of the young guys has been brutal, and I don't know how many times we've seen him say different variations of "I don't know what to do" in interviews, especially early this year.
I think the Rangers underachieved this year.

We agree to disagree. Maybe if Brind'amour doesn't stay, we can poach him |

Sadly not gonna happen. That guy can definitely get some of these guys to grow some hair on their balls though. |
