I totally agree with this blog. I think theres some knee jerk reactions and ideas straight out of emotion being tossed around fresh off a disappointing series loss. I really fn liked this roster headed in haha...sucks..

I do agree.
This is a difficult loss to take.
Jarry was horrendous. They need to upgrade their goalie.
Gibson might be available?
Rust and Jarry and a 2nd might do it

I agree 100% with RW. You dont need to blow it up and you shouldnt blow up a functioning core for the sake of doing something.
The coaching and goaltending are the first steps, and the most important. This offseason will likely determine whether the Crosby group has any chance at another Cup.
And on a side note... now that Pierre doesnt have a TV gig... he can join the Penguins' front office or as the coach, right? |

Looks like the Panthers are done ... they made a few solid moves and ran into the toughest team in the East in the first round. Bummer, man. |
|
|
|
Side note... with the expansion draft and with a lot of teams coming up short this year, there should be plenty of teams looking to make deals. |

Nah, if the Pens want Gibson they're going to have to pony up something like Jarry, McCann and a 1st and maybe even throw in one of Legare or Poulin.
Edit: Which I would think long and hard about.. if it was an option. I probably make that trade. |

You can't put all the blame on Jarry, I saw Islanders skating by Sydney Crosby and score goals.

If the asking price is Jarry/McCann/1st round pick... the only question is how long does it take for Hextall to pull the trigger.
Anaheim is a hard team to get a read on. Not sure Gibson is in the cards for them.

If we can't get a "stud" like Gibson, any vets with anything left?
Quick?
Kuemper?
anyone else? |

It would be a 2022 1st - TheGame316
And I hate trading picks from following years. Sooner or later it will catch up to you and goodness knows we've wasted plenty of them over the last 10+ years.
However, Gibson is a strong caliber player, under a reasonable contract, and only 27. He's the kind of guy you trade a 1st round pick for.
Only reason I'd have to think about Gibson is the fact he is from Pittsburgh. A lot of pressure on a guy to play for your hometown team as goalie... even still, he's a guy I would highly look into.
Lots of options in FA or cheaper options too. |

Jarry will be traded to the Oilers for Kassian and a pick unless Seattle bites on him as I can't imagine protecting him.
In reality, Jarry is salvageable as a plus backup but he needs to get his head back in the game. He was an all star caliber goalie for a season and had a decent regular season. Injust can't imagine him rebounding with this tea.. - MacPatty
He was an all-star caliber goalie for just 20 games when he was selected. He went down hill the second half. That was blamed on Sully not playing him enough. No such excuse this year. He is clearly not an all star level goalie. |

I could totally see a Jarry for Kassian trade. Fills the long pants quota with a guy who can kinda play in the top 6 |

Completely true. For whatever chances they generated the top line was trashed. Sid pointed the finger at himself post game without prompting for those 2 back checks and not producing offense. |

Yeah and Sid did good things in the game as well... He was taking it to the net... Clanged it off crossbar in opening of 3rd. That could of changed everything. Top 2 lines should of been tinkered with. |
