If the Leafs win they move on to the second round. Same goes for the Canadiens if they win.

No doubt Jetter! After the last series there was hardly an article about the Jets winning, but many articles about the Oilers losing. No respect is right...

One of the Canadian teams will win only to be chewed up and spit out In round 2.

Well, a Canadian team will win round 2 also, but the chewing and spitting could certainly happen in round 3. Colorado is looking very strong.

Are you sure? Maybe Ek knows something we don’t. Like when the Avs had to play an extra game against Minny.

Sometimes, it feels like there are 29 teams in the NHL...and then there is Toronto and Montreal. Two epic hockey cities, whose franchises feel as old as the sport itself..

Some of the Leafs are old as the sport itself.

The NHL is absolutely better when the Leafs and Canadiens are contending. The rub here has always been tha these are two fanbases who don't accept rebuilding years well, or at all...

- Eklund

Sorry, Ek, but this is nonsense.

It’s one of the great myths of the Maple Leafs that people are only too happy to repeat.

The Leafs have been mostly awful for over half a century, yet the season ticket holder waiting list is over 100 years long.

We have been loyal. More importantly, we have been patient. We have always been willing to get it done through a proper rebuild, even if that meant short-term pain.

Cliff Fletcher wasn’t willing to do a proper rebuild. Brian Burke wasn’t willing to do a proper rebuild.

Since Ballard died, Leafs management has always sacrificed the future for a quick payoff.

You can say a lot about Leafs Nation, but don’t ever say we don’t have patience.

FFS, that’s all we have.

Agreed. I hate the Leafs and hope they never, ever win the Cup again. But to say their fans don't have patience is such a bad take. Leafs fans can be obnoxious, but in general, they are far more knowledgable than most other US franchises. So they understand that sometimes patience is needed.

Well every sportsbar has hockey on. We don't waste time with football, baseball, and basketball. I was in Nashville a couple of years ago and the bar owner had football on every single channel. After a lengthy discussion he put a hockey game on in the back corner for us. Meanwhile, Montreal's largest law firm closed at 12pm today so employees could prepare for the game 7 hours later. Let that sink in...

Loud crowd In Boston tonight, It's a sellout, Real humans too, I love the NHL's symbolism by requiring the coaches to continue to wear masks. Lol. The PC game by Bettman. Adorable.
