7th - Feds91Stammer
Agreed. I’m still going to watch, and it’s going to be like eating at White Castle. Every now and again I tell myself it won’t give me stomach problems and prove myself wrong. Very, very wrong
I did find out that people use WC sliders as stuffing for their turkey. That terrifies me |

Even though I'm a Wild fan It's still really ashame that Detroit got screwed out of the first pick In last season's draft. |

Can't go third. Only top two spots are in the lottery. Sounds like we are losers again. |

I did the draft stimulator (purposely misspelled) 1 time and Detroit won! Owen Power or Matty Beniers comes to the Wings!!!
Now back to reality, we pick 7th
If Bettman wanted to endure himself to most hockey fans he would fix his wrong to Detroit by giving them 1st or 2nd |

If i could get a prescription for White Castle as my next colonoscopy prep I’d be happy. Tastes better than prep, and leaves me squeaky clean! |

No worries at all. Their Krinkle fries are really good. I bought a crave case for a church men’s group once. It was never done again |

I think no matter where they pick, they will not pick who the consensus pick at that slot. In 2018, the experts all said they'd pick a d-man and it would be Hughes, Boqvist or Bouchard. If I recall correctly, a few even said Dobson. I doubt anyone had Zadina on their list. Obviously everyone was wrong in the 2019 draft. There was a variety of players the experts said they'd pick, but none of them had Seider. Last year it seemed most people had Perfetti or Rossi. A few had Drysdale and even less had Raymond.
This is going to be a really cool draft for Detroit. With so many players unable to compete (and some with limited action), this draft will separate the scouting staffs who will stick to the knowns (players who played last year) or to the unknowns. Everyone knows the mock draft would look very different if the OHL had a season. This year, Central Scouting only has 4 OHL players in their "A" grade watch list. Last year it was 10 players with A grades, and that's about where they are each year. Statistically, there are 6 gems from the OHL that saw little or no action last year. Those are the kids I hope Detroit can find with bargain picks. |

In fairness, none of the mocks had Detroit taking Zadina because he was expected to go third or fourth. Falling all the way to sixth was a big surprise.

My initial pick was Bouchard, then Quinn. Quinn would be the 20/20 hindsight consensus pick. But Zadina is still a good pick. |

I don’t believe Quinn is the consensus pick unless you want a forward playing defense. Quinn doesn’t play defense and the jury is still out on that draft. I’m thankful the Wings didn’t take Quinn. |

Not only that, but one of the Detroit press writers did a mailbag, someone asked if Zadina could fall to 6th. She said it would never happen. We’ve all had THAT day…
I still can’t believe his 2 way play this year. Hoping he’ll have Vrana as a linemate and get his scoring going. It would never happen, but Eichel centering those two would be a lot of fun…..
Part of me wonders if Vrana will play within Larkin and Bert, putting Zadina back with Fabbri and Ryan(if he re signs). Sorry, I had way too much coffee |

Definitely didn’t expect Zadina to fall to 6, Kotkaniemi shot up the charts (he’s had some good looks too). I think I could guess the powerball easier than I can guess Yzerman any more. Sven had Raymond picked correctly last year, no one else did. I think what makes it all so exciting is that there isn’t one single area of need (you could argue about having enough right shot D for sure). I keep forgetting that Yzerman has his brother as a scout, and those two work their tails off. Some kids probably got screwed not playing, but could be those sneaky good picks. I’ll go out on a limb and say that they may probably grab Power at #1 if they win the lottery. Then again, Yzerman is Yzerman. No way to know

I was a Bouchard guy, for sure. I’d wanted to get Cal Foote when he was drafted. Ironically, Yzerman did get Cal Foote. Kid has size 15 skates ( I wear a 13 shoe and my skates are 12s). Seider, for me, is now more exciting than both of those kids. What a find in ‘19. I honestly think this year on the ice (GR and Detroit) we’ll see some good looks. I may be able to reduce some of my meds |

Detroit isn’t the only club with a strong collegiate goalie who may walk. Filip Lindberg is leaving college to sign as a free agent after his rights expire. Not sure if Yzerman has eyes on this goalie or not

I would hope Yzerman is taking a look, just based on his stats. Is there any actual buzz around him? I know he probably isn't a Knight type guy but is it possible to get an impact next year?
Also, I wouldn't expect any Keith news before the expansion draft. Even if the Wings will sign him, they'd have to protect him during the draft. I would not expect any hurry by Yzerman. |
