Certainly wouldn't be mad with Guenther. Think I'd rather have Eklund at 3, but I wouldn't lose my poop. Adding two top fives talents this year is pretty exciting. |

Getting two top 10 picks for Eichel/Reinhart/Risto would improve the outlook of this team exponentially. Even if it is a “weak draft” the team would have a top prospect pool again and we can set it up right. The problem when Eichel and Reinhart were young is that there wasn’t anyone else, it was just them. Build it right and stock the cupboard and this team will have a bright future. |

I think this kid has the potential to be best player out of this draft

Looks like a winner to me!
But dropping power down the list is going to stir some people up!! |

You taking Hughes with the 1OA pick if the Sabres have no other picks in the first round this year? (Worst Case Scenario) |

If I ran the ship, I'd trade down to 3 with Anaheim and take Hughes there. I wouldn't take him at 1 and NJ is taking him at 4
Maybe as part of a larger Eichel deal. Maybe just as a stand-alone deal |

Power + one of the big 3 forwards I think would be a fairly successful draft and would give me a lil optimism for the future atleast. |

It's just so hard to predict the selection without knowing who gets traded and the return.
Initially I wanted to draft a forward with some firepower but we may pick up a nice forward in a trade which would make me lean towards a defenseman in the draft. |

If I were a betting man, I'd say they stand pat and take Power at 1 |

Fun to speculate. Many are thinking we'll get a forward and a defenseman in the top 10 but that may be reaching.
Seems many forget that as right now we only own 1 pick. |

That's the thing. There's little consensus top 3-5 in the hockey world. Powers is safe, Berniers is solid but their upside seems more limited than the skill-trio of Eklund, Guenther and Hughes.
Trade down could be a winning scenario.
Good take on Guenther. Wouldn't mind him at 3 if it worked out that way. Even if he's a winger. |

Weak draft doesn't mean it's not gonna produce some stars. The 2014 draft was a weak draft as well. |

2012 was also a weak draft.......
It can go both ways.
Many teams around the league according to reports are willing to trade out this year because they don't see much in this draft.
yet we are trying to convince ourselves here that its going to be great because the Sabres are going to have multiple picks. |

Just playing devil's advocate here but maybe the Covid implications are driving that narrative partially. Some guys don't have a lot of tape or played in Europe. It's possible that there are some really excellent players in the 2nd and 3rd rounds who are underscouted |

"One of Drysdale or Zegras has to be involved in the deal, if not both."
I would skip the pick and get both Zegras and Drysdale. |

Nice Read Hank. A Power Eklund Guenther would be a incredible take if things come to fruition |

The Yankees have more triple plays (3) than the Diamondbacks have wins (2) since the Yankees got their first one
That is an insane stat
Also I hate the Yankees
Oh:
Get me Power and one of the three forwards (Berniers, Eklund, Guenther) and I think it will go a long way long term.
Let's face it, they're going to be a lottery team next year as well. Build towards the future.
How long until Granato is named HC? |
