It's insane just how much better a start these new expansion clubs get now.
I was in college near Columbus when they came into the league... and it was the Shampoo Knutsen and Ron Tugnutt show for a bit there. Despite the handicap, they amazingly won some games. |

In your opinion do you see the Flyers having any interest in Tony D once he is bought out by the Rangers?
Would you look to sign him as solid low cost option? The reward outweighs the risk imo. - hello it's me 2050
I know he has interest in playing for the Flyers. But they have to figure out Gostisbehere's situation first. They also have a more pressing need for a two-way, big minutes D-man atop the lineup. If those things work out and they want to do something similar with DeAngelo to how they took a chance on Michael Del Zotto some years ago, I could see it as a possibility. |

There is def chatter over at Hollydell about both parties being interested.
Yes Ghost would need to be moved I agree. IMO the cost in term and $ would be very low.
do you see them making a play for Risto? You seem to mention him a lot!!

Yes, I think Ristolainen is one of the possible avenues they are exploring; heard he was a name that was discussed this past season, too. However, he had a pretty severe bout with COVID that kept him out multiple weeks and then the bottom dropped out on the Flyers' season to where they were no longer potential buyers.

I think Vegas and now Seattle are getting too sweet of a deal. Expansion teams should have to work their way up to cup contention, I don't think it's a good look to have an expansion team in the finals in their first year. |

From a true sports fan's perspective, I would agree. But from a business standpoint, it kinda makes sense. It's a great way to immediately establish strong money spending fanbase in a new market. Gotta make that return on investment asap these days... |

Yeah, from a league perspective its been a home run. Vegas is doing well at home and they will always be a hot ticket on the road too.

I don’t see it working out for Seattle as it did for Vegas, they hit a home run on multiple deals. Teams are better prepared this time around. |

i don't really agree. a lot of these players were left exposed by their former team or their team even offered sweeteners so vegas would take that player. they were basically players those teams didn't want.
i love it. |

In a couple of seasons, Vegas will probably bottom out. They have a bunch of 30-yos and not much in the way of youngsters to take over the torch. Kinda like when Florida came in the league, built their team to win right away, then a long struggle after that.

Risto would be a mistake, IMO. They really need somebody who can handle top-pair minutes, not just play them. |

Depending on the cost it isnt a bad move. Has 1 year left. You can evaluate then go from there.

Good for Hakstol, he was judged unfairly here. Took all the blame for our teams inconcistencies. |

I think DeAngelo could be a good pickup at probably a very low price. But there is no way a woke corporation like Comcast would chose to deal with his politics. |

took a very mediocre team to the playoffs several times. Wonder if he hires Gord Murphy.
