Two new blogs posted by Jan within the same day for Jan's own Norris Trophy win, or even an MVP win given his excessive workload and more. On this instance with Adam Fox also becoming the first ever Norris Trophy winner to have played during that season with a non playoff team.

Combining that with him playing for the league's youngest average age team in its toughest division for 2021 is what likely steered enough voters away from the norm in casting their Norris votes. It also gave Rangers fans another sigh of relief since Tampa's feat earned last weekend in that Fox's win will prevent some damaged goods in Eichel from wearing a Rangers jersey anytime soon, if ever; and similarly keep Zib a Ranger long term.

Some quick thoughts:

Absolutely ( and pleasantly ) surprised that Fox won, but even MORE shocking was Hedman finishing 3rd! Honorable mention: 3 Carolina players finished in top 16!

Would it have hurt Fox to smile at all during the Leetch interview?

I don't think a bridge deal for Fox is an option anymore --- lets hope the AAV on his 8 year contract is reasonably low...

Anything under 7m per I think is a steal and a gift from Fox.

Fox not smiling isn’t surprising to me. My guess is that he’s a bit of a v4gin4.

if they can get Fox signed to an 8 year extension, it essentially becomes a 9 year contract because they still have the one year left on the entry level

who knows if they are even thinking about it or discussing it

but man, it would be nice if they could do it with a number that starts with a 6

I doubt its that low, for all we know, if this team gets the repairs it needs, he could win a second one next year too.

they gotta play the lifelong Ranger fan card hard on this one

one encouraging thing is that his buddy Lindgren was so easy to sign

Nice, ya. Likely, no. How many years until he would be eligible to be a UFA? If it’s 2-3 we could possibly keep the cap hit in the low 7’s

I still can't get over the video of the Rangers players last night, Buch being stoned, Kreider looking like a dad giving a selfie, half of them being hostage videos. So good
