He will be less than $3.5M AAV. Good for your cap!

RW: A veteran goalie to replace DeSmith and push Jarry at a reasonable cap price? I don't see a fit here.

I weirdly have confidence he will find his game again. I don't think he'll ever come close to Vezina status, but I do think he's got all the ability to become a solid goalie if he starts to give a poop about making himself better.

I think he's mentally broken from the death of his father and his couple of conkie's he got.

It's totally possible. I just remember reading multiple reports that he never would listen to the coaching staff in terms of what they told him to work on, putting in the time, etc.. That also could be related to the death of his dad, who knows. Death is a tough one. He may have lost all real motivation.

I think it’s go after a real starter or bust. The only one worth mentioning is Gibson. Yeah everyone can offer something better than Pitt but I’m sure there’s many western conference teams they don’t deal with and lots of eastern teams have, or think they have, their goalie so maybe it could happen.

I’d try for a Gibson/Manson swap.

Manson has had 3 hella bad years and Anaheim should be paying to get rid of him. Trading Marino for him gives them an exempt player signed for term and gives Pitt some size and strength on the rear end, some playoff exp, and someone who has, until last year, been generally healthy. Jarry is a 1A/1B stop gap with stolarz while they develop their next tender.

I’d say it would have to be Jarry, Marino, ? For Gibson and Manson. Not sure if anything would be possible that doesn’t involve Jake, but I wouldn’t be looking to move him unless a replacement like silverberg with salary retained, or comtois who is unproven but had a bit of a breakout year is sent back.

The fact that he is already a 2x stanley cup champion as a rookie could lead to a lack of not caring anymore. He’s already got 2 of what some people chase for their whole life. I remember hearing about him not listening to coaches as well. As far as he’s concerned he may only be there to fill his bank now which Ottawa did for him. Young, won it, rich, just got to ride it out on the team that’s near his hometown.

Not verified, but my buddy texted me and said it sounds like Vegas may be working on an extension for Fleury. His agent let them know he wants to stay.

EDIT: This is one of my sources in Vegas. He never really has much for me, but when he tells me something I listen.

This would mean they are doing the smart thing and trading Lehner.

I just can't believe they pull him again in the playoffs for Lehner and then they resign him to an extension. I don't know your source, but probably BS.

Imagine loosing your Dad and having to work an actual job where you can’t take weeks off because bills are due. F Murray. I never remembered another player taking more than a few days for the death of a family member.

Easily my favorite Blackhawk of all time and grossly under valued when he was in his prime. It would be odd to see him in a different uniform...

Maybe its because I have a lot of Chicago friends, but I feel like all I heard about in his prime is how he's the best defenseman in the league.

That entire sequence outside of Mrazek is just bums playing hockey. Steve Ott to Galchy with (frank)ing Robbie Russo on D.
