Yep. What do you think Landeskog will get? - Cptmjl
I'm gonna say something like $7.5M if he stays in Colorado, I'd say as high as $9M on the open market. I don't think he's a $10M player, but of course that doesn't mean someone won't give it to him.
I'm still not sure we can add him and an adequate Leddy replacement without dumping both of Bailey and Eberle. Not advocating for it, but I just don't see it as possible. Someone like Oleksiak or Martinez would probably be somewhere between $3M-$5M and there's no way we could add Landy for $8.5M+ on top of that.
I still have a weird premonition that Beau may be on the move. Again, not saying I want that...but just a lingering feeling. |

Wow I didn’t see him getting that much especially with the flat cap. I was thinking 8 tops. I get that he’s a good all around player, leader, etc but his numbers don’t command that kind of money… |

Speculation is that he'd take less to stay with the Avs, but could be seeking $9M-$10M on the open market. I don't think he'll get that much from a contender. Andy Strickland claims his list of teams (other than COL, obviously) would be TBL, FLA, VGK, TOR, NYI, and STL.
St. Louis might have the best shot, if they lost Tarasenko, but are probably the weakest of all those teams. No chance Tampa or Toronto can afford him. I'm skeptical on Vegas, too. They need a center.
If he really does leave the Avs, he may have to take $8M or so if he wants to have a legitimate chance at a Cup. |

I think someone posted here 2 or 3 days ago that the Islanders were rumored to have offered 7 x 7? |

I’ve heard numbers in the 7’s possibly barely cresting just over 8. Flat cap being the reason it wouldn’t go higher. |

I’ve heard a few people talk about Taresenko to the Isles. Obviously not a done deal, but the strongest interest. See what happens I guess. |

9 to 10 in this flat cap era is like 12 million before Covid where the cap was going up 3 to 5 million but as we know didn't. I think 7 million is the number Landy gets in the open market and the Aves having the ability to sign him to 8 years is even bigger now imho.
RNH signing for 5.1 I which showed what and impact the cap freeze will have on the FA, RFA and most contracts in the NHL.
Waiting for the you don’t say gif. |

I don’t think the Islanders or any other team other than the Aves could offer anything until July 28th when he becomes a FA.

Well then they would have been tampering
Maybe that's what it ends up being. I'm just going off Strickland's tweets and the numbers he threw out there. He may start at $9-10M and negotiate down from there. Colorado is rumored to have offered $7Mx5 (among two other offers of different money/term presented) and that's obviously been rejected by Landeskog. |

I may have insinuated that UFA's were already talking to teams b/c I kinda thought that had started already... so u can blame me. I'll just blame that it's July 19th and we still haven't had a draft yet. |

I would be very upset if Beau was moved. He gives 100% every shift... love the kid. |

As we await what SEA decides with Carey Price, word is that the Kraken are closing in on FLA’s Chris Driedger at 3x$3.5M. I dont believe that precludes them from selecting Price, but one goalie appears locked-in.
Spending $14M of cap space on two goaltenders would be a bad start |

Not sure to who’s contract you’re referring, but digging a touch deeper, here’s some more numbers from just the last 2 years of playoffs.
Goodrow: 43 games, 12 points. 763 TOI. 105 TOI shorthanded.
Komarov: 36 games, 6 points. 459 TOI. 36 TOI shorthanded.
Do with them what you will, but it appears Goodrow is bigger in the playoffs. |
