I understand the business side of things from Terry (asking high, expecting somewhere in the middle). But we should really take a step back and ask, why are we funding venues for billionaires who are the only ones that see the profit?
I get that they can hold there county and the city by the cahones and threaten to move the team but it’s really a terrible precedent. |

I don't understand how it became the norm for stadiums to be publicly funded. But at the same time, the Sabres and Bills are just tenants of these buildings.
Granted it is at a much higher price point, but if you rent a house and it needs major updates wouldn't you want your landlord to pay for them to fixed and if they don't you'd move?
I know it's apples to oranges here but I understand it (I don't like it but I get it).

Do you think Terry and Tim mixed up their glasses the day they signed Okposo? It was supposed to be for 2 years but those greasy buns from the bada burger and here we are. |

asking for 100 percent up front is arrogant not the best way to get along, IMO
especially after the pandemic |

Why is it so important to be able to watch the game from the concession stand? |

I’d be happy with clean seats and a wider 300 concourse. |

that precedent wasn't set by the pegulas...
especially in Buffalo they hold all the cards and the city knows they can't let them leave. |

The Pegulas have had every chance to update the arena.
They have not.
Its frankly embarrassing to go there.

I don't mind the initial ask. I dont agree with it, but i get it
Threatening to leave if you dont get it, in your first ask is where i have issue.
Also, if my taxes are going towards this I should be able to use it at will, no? |

So we all knew Botteril would absolutely not buy out a player's contract. Do we know for sure that Adams feels the same way?
Okposo should be acting as third-base coach on his kids' baseball team, not third-line winger in the NHL...one more knock to the head and he'll be lucky to be able to talk in full sentences for as long as he lives. He should retire on his own, and if not the team should buy him out or do the (now in vogue) medical arbitration so his kids will know for their whole lives that their Dad remembers their names.
I seriously don't know what the heck is wrong with some people...the guy has more $ in the bank than any of us will ever see and he still puts himself at risk of becoming Mr. Potato Head. |

I’m wondering if it’s a Pegula narrative. Not paying players who aren’t here kind of thing. After the ROR trade I wonder if that has something to do with it.

Okslowpoke was bad signing, we have to live with it.
Pegula is just asking high, ZERO% chance this team gets moved.
They can move the Sabres wherever they want, they really are a complete disgrace IMO.
I never liked being bad on purpose and frankly we have been bad on purpose like 4 out of the last 7 years. It does nothing but teach players its OK to lose and to accept it. Very bad for young impressionable athletes. Also, these kids are used to winning, now you have to tell them we are going to be bad for a few years to get extra pieces, we tank get the extra pieces but still do address the one glaring need this team has needed A FOOKING GOALIE. Good Pieces get pissed and want out, Vicious cycle.
In the NHL it All starts with a Capable NHL starting GOALIE, one of which we have not had for like 10 years or so since Miller. We will win nothing without a good starting goalie. Not a good starting back ups, like Hutton, Linus, etc...An actual proven starting goalie MAF, was who I wanted to get for a few years. teach the kids how to win...
I guess we will be another top 3 pick team for the next few years. With the roster they have , I really cant see them getting more then 10 wins in regulation.

Just another day in hockey heaven! Eichels weekend media blitz has all the FakeNewsers on Eichels side again. Woke WGR hosts saying "it's his body his rights!" , as if he is being oppressed. Go ahead, get the surgery, void your contract! Eichel himself is a cancer, let him rot on LTIR in perpetuity! Terrible "leader", see JS Dea's veiled comments on him |

Putting a player on LTIR is a detriment to the team's finances the following year. You don't use it unless you need to use it. Therefore, he would rest on IR (because the team will likely have ~18M in space) until a time he is deemed healthy enough to play. It will be at this point that he can either sit out and drive his value down and force the GM to not only suspend him, but to also hold onto him until such a point where he receives proper value in a trade, or he can play, demonstrate his worth/health to the league, and help the Sabres move him.
I would be absolutely shocked if Eichel was not only treated, but also sat out when healthy.

Yea, nobody actually said that.
Basically nobody can understand how the NHLPA allowed the wording in the CBA to let teams have controls over players injuries.
I'm on board with Eichel getting surgery, let him have it.
The Sabres have completely botched this IMO, I understand Eichels frustration.
The SAbres refusing medical records is insane.
Convenient that the interview basically put Eichels records out there. |
