At the expense of 'Canes fans who occasion this blog, VERY glad to have Ned in net (is there some sort of TV show in that title?!?!?!?!?). He's not the panacea to our ills, but we know that he's strong, he' still developing, and has the potential to be here a while. All good things; there's stability in net w/Greiss-Greiss Baby.....and Cossa germinating in the bus leagues. I've slept much better since the draft, thanks for asking The hardest part now, is waiting for the seeds to sprout. We still need a good C to compliment/free up Larkin, and a solid D-line to augment Mo Sides; 3 solid D is much better than 3 half-ass lines rolling out. DD & Staal will carry the mail as best they can this season while The Captain works his magic and Leddy helps the kids grow. I feel OK with our D-line, though. The issue is, I think Ned's numbers will tank in comparison to last years. He just doesn't have the supporting cast in front of him in Detroit, so there's going to be some frustration for sure.

I'm not sure who drop-kicked you on Twitter, but they need to have their reproductive organs sautéed in buttermilk.....you raised the potential of Petro refusing to sign with the Wings back in Jan, I believe (may be a bit longer, or shorter...my mind is the perfect combination of shaken AND stirred, rugby & combat suck). H2 said something a couple of months back as well, I believe. Pisses me off that "experts" with a blue bird (or whatever "shipper" uses to verify/certify users....) denigrate solid folks; systemic on socials. I know it's something you need to be on, but I personally stay far away from the socials. Your insights are solid, Jeremy. I trust what you say, respect your insight/opinions. Keep kicking assterisks.

I see Petruzzelli was invited to the Bruins camp. I'll say this...it takes courage to walk away from a guaranteed ELC and hope someone picks you up in camp. It's extremely hard for a goalie to impress in rookie camps, but the dude obviously has confidence.

The only thing about the process that frustrates me is potential tampering. My source told me in March that he wanted to play in Boston. there may be a “handshake” deal. NYR grabs a lot of college free agents the second they are available. Obvious communication has been happening. Tukka is on the shelf and Halak was moved on. If this was already known at the beginning of the year, seems like more than just a gamble.

Thanks for that. As for D, Dekeyser is just so beat up. I think Hronek, Staal, Stecher are the solid bets. Yzerman thinks Seider has earned a shot (basically outgrown other options). Leddy for sure, consummate pro. But for sure, Ned could see a lot more “high danger” chances while things work out.

I feel better about center this year. Fabbri and Suter may swap around a bit. Ras really is coming into the third line role. Losing Glenny will be a challenge at end of game dzone faceoff time. Still weak up the middle, but getting stronger. If Bert is healthy this year, huge boost to Larkin. Those two feed off each other for sure
