Zajac and Palmeri have handshake deals with Lou.
No to : Eichel
Vertanen
Maybe to: Chiasson
Scevior
Yes to: Ryan
Tyler Bozak

And then there is Phil Kessel and Dvorak (LH shot), maybe do a deal for both?

Phil has a weird last year in his deal. $5m bonus with $1m salary but an 8m cap hit. Full no move,NTC.

Shanahan and Lapointe are some of my favorite playoff righty’s.

No Doug Brown? Wasn't the most productive offensively but he fit in well with the Wings. Always liked him.

I don't mind the Wings getting a RH forward as long as it is someone that can contribute. No point in bringing in someone just because they shoot right. Ryan seems like the best option for UFAs. Virtanen would need to get cleared of his legal issue before i would even think about giving him a chance.

For trades Kessel could be interesting depending on the price and if he would waive his NMC/NTC to trade him at the deadline but his NMC/NTC could make the return pretty low since its only a list of 8 teams he can be traded to unless he would be willing to expand it.

Alex Tuch would be nice if Vegas was willing to move him but i doubt very much they would trade him and the price would likely be too much.

Maybe Labanc or Merkley from the Sharks but i doubt they want to move either and likely would rather dump Kane or one of their overpriced defensemen.

All that being said, if the Wings are trading for someone i would rather it be a good playmaking center unless that winger comes for dirt cheap.

Definitely loved Brown! He had a goal or two where he jumped off the bench and scored. I wore down the DVD replaying it. If I remember right, Nashville grabbed him in the expansion draft and Kenny got him back. I’ve seen him in a couple alumni events (a while ago). So funny. You hear the Swedish accents, Russian accents, but it’s the Boston guy that sticks out like crazy!

There’s a little “chatter” about Kessel on the wire. I don’t mind the cap hit because the salary (after the bonus is paid) is only $1 million. That would definitely be a deadline flip candidate. Right now, no one has much interest. Some bonuses are being paid later this year (not July) and that may be part of the holdup. Trying to pin that down

I’d take Kessel as a leader but he can only have salary retained one more time. Seems like you may be able to get a sweetener for him. But he wouldn’t waive to come to Detroit.

Palmari yes to use as a deadline flip.

That’s the thing, his salary is so low after the bonus is paid out. It will wind down until the TDL. Usually, bonuses are paid July 1. This year, there was a report on Carey Price that his would be paid in September (to do with expansion draft). If that’s the case, it makes more sense that Kessel won’t be moved until after bonus ($5 million) is paid. His cap hit for AZ is 6.8, but with a $1 million salary after the bonus. Such a weird last year of his deal dollar wise. He is agitated and wants out of the desert badly. Agent has asked for a trade. No one is interested. He may, as a last resort, go to a rebuild team with the promise of a flip by TDL. All speculation, but his dollars are so fascinating at this point

I think the only way a team like the Wings can go after him is if he gives them an approved list of teams he will go to at the deadline now. Don't want a Hall situation or something like that where there is no value in it.
