Karine Hains: An In-House Solution? Today, Jonathan Drouin held his golf tournament and when Pierre Houde asked him if he would be willing to fill in at center, he answered that he would be, but is that really a solution?

I wonder if Ducharme already had a discussion with Drouin about possibly using him at center...

Good question... Maybe he did, who knows...Still 3 days to go until Bergevin has to make a decision, isn't that fun lol

big difference this time around is that Drouin would not be the #1C. he'd be the #2C. and he'd have better wingers than last time.

It sure as hell didn't go well for him last time, but I guess as counterpoints Drouin will be #2 on the depth chart this time and will be playing with better wingers on a better team. Still not ideal of course, but it's not worth overpaying for a center anyway unless we're getting a good defenseman in the package.

it's still putting more pressure on him than if he was on the wing, especially considering he's coming back from a personal leave, but yeah it's true it's less than what was initially planned.

I disagree with the rest!!!

Drouin could be "good" given he plays with better linemates. Hoffman and ThePowerTruckinTrain for wingers could be enough to make the Habs 2nd line dangerous.

As for trading? Habs now have assets to trade. They could get decent player like Dvorak or Monahanananaan

ask Drouin if he prefers playing LW with Poehling or Evans as his center, or if prefers playing C with Toffoli and Anderson. pretty sure what the answer will be.

I guess you both have a point...

the way we're convincing ourselves we'll almost be disappointed if Drouin doesn't end up at center

Watch Bergy trade Drouin and CAR's first and 3rd pick for Monahan!

well, if they can get a good center without overpaying, I'm all for it. but we know how it is. trades are hard.
