The guest writer needs to be educated on LTIR. LTIR cap space cannot be accrued. It is use it or lose it. If nothing else changes, the Knights will have to make a move to bring Tuch back on the roster. The LTIR cap space will then disappear.

Patrick has potential and skill but I haven’t seen him develop his talent at the NHL level. Potential is unrealized talent. Patrick has skill but when will he display his talent?

You know what? You’re absolutely right. The space does not accrue. McCrimmon put himself in a similar situation last year and the result was basically limiting the team to a minimum sized roster (15 at one point) that added strain when day-to-day injuries occurred. In other words, McCrimmon’s hand may be forced into making a trade if no one else is on LTIR by February. Good eye!

Wishing the best for the kid. He's still a kid, Been through a lot, the talent is there, The drive is the issue. He plays his best when he's in close and shooting the puck, but the seems hesitant and mildly disinterested last season (That can be said for many on the team when things started to unravel in Philly) but he has the size, skill and hopefully it will work out for him with a new start. In fairness I think Philly really did give him alot of chances to succeed, not many players would get that much ice time and pp time with such little results.

He’s soft as butter and seems unwilling to compete for space on the ice. There seems to be some attitude issues with him as well. What was troubling to many of us in Philly was that after an ok rookie season, he showed little if any improvement in year 2.

Assuming he can stay healthy, the talent is there to be a solid 2C, but I’m not sure if this young man has the heart to get to that next level. Let’s not kid ourselves, if he wasn’t the 2nd overall pick in the draft, he very well might be in the AHL right now. Maybe he matures and ups his work ethic, but I wouldn’t bet much on it.
