Sanford is a good PK forward who won a cup and an awesome grit player. Also can score clutch goals if given an opportunity, I remember he put up a 4 goal game against Vegas once and was huge for them in their cup run. Good Blake Coleman style player still in his prime. Good pick up for a player whose career Ottawa was going to bury.
The conditions on the draft pick are interesting, play him 30 gma or more and you get NOTHING, you can really feel the animosity there from PD. STL gets some cap relief too which they need if tarasenko stays.
This is the sign that Tkachuk is gonna sign his offer sheet there now too, right? |

Sens give up a conditional draft pick in the deal if Brown plays less than 30 games for St. Louis. I have no idea what kind of player they are getting back. |

Seems clear the team had no faith in Brown as a player.
They're still below the salary floor, but this brings them somewhat closer if a deal needs to be made.
I know nothing about Sanford as a player, but his numbers are about what I expected. |

I will be the negative guy. We just traded upside for average. A team that preaches to there players to not become complacent just traded for complacent. |

That's very interesting given his career total of 2 goals in the playoffs and being benched for 70% of their Cup run. |

Maybe.
It 's also possible they traded away the most complacent guy on the team. |

The same Cup run where he scored points in every second game he played in and did the same thing for them the following year where he played every game for STL? Doing so as a fourth line winger in his first full pro season, which is why he was benched/scratched until it really mattered and he showed up for them by scoring the goal that killed off any comeback potential in gm 7?

Is Grandpa going to be a Blues fan now? That'd be swell. |

For a 4th line plug… F you, Pierre Dorion.
I can’t wait to see granpa’s reaction though. |

Look Pierre, I've been a Logan Brown doubter since his first year in the OHL so I don't really have a stake in this game, but your Sanford is the next Fernando Pisani and Blake Coleman take is pretty amusing. |

Tkachuk
Formenton
Stutzle
Paul
Where does Sanford fit in 🤔
Could we see Paul moving to Center
Tkachuk Norris Batherson
Stutzle Paul Brown
Sanford White Sokolov
Formenton Tierny Watson
I’d be cool too if they traded Tierny
Then ya can have
Tkachuk Norris Batherson
Stutzle Pinto Brown
Formenton Paul Sokolov
Sanford White Watson

I have no idea what pick was offered by the Blues or the Coyotes but I think I would have taken a pick over another gritty Senator.
Anyway, good luck to Logan. I hope his camp for the Blues looks better than the start of his camp with the Sens. It doesn't sound like he came to earn a spot with the Senators. |

Couple of things to break down here.
#1 Logan Brown trade... Personally I'm not a fan for two reasons.
Firstly, I like Logan Brown and was hoping he could turn it around this year
Secondly, Ottawa should have let him go through camp and build up a bit more value because the return I don't think is near what Brown will be worth in the long run.
#2. PD's summer isn't shaping up well with Brown and Brady's issues.
I really think at this point Brady is basically giving the "C" to Chabot with this hold out. |

a tornado was reported in OTT, after further inspection, it was from Browns wake as he fled OTT. |

At this point, i think the next sens to be traded will be Brady |

This trade gives the Blues a little cap space on a guy who will be a UFA after this year.Sanford is streaky and makes an impact when he’s engaged but he’s inconsistent and can disappear. He’ll never be a big scorer so maybe the Sens can remake him into a good defender who can score some. Brown is from STL so there is a chance both teams could benefit.

Good luck to LB. Ottawa had zero interest in giving him a decent shot and maybe he'll start to realize his potential in St Louis. Could be one heck of a move for them.
As for Ottawa the addition of ZS makes Tkachuk expendable. Now all they need is a number one D. Maybe Dorion can dangle Tkachuk for Coburn and fix that hole in the lineup? I think he probably can squeeze a third round pick out of whomever on the condition Tkachuk doesn't play thirty games for them. PD is a sly fox he is! |

Logan Brown is 23, and hasn’t shown a SHRED of upside at the NHL level. If he hasn’t shown anything by this point, it’s unlikely he’ll show anything. His ceiling is higher than Sanford, but the chance of him even getting close to that ceiling are virtually non-existent. Sanford is an NHL player right now, I’ll take that over the 13% chance that LB is anything but an injury prone AHL player |
