Yeah I know the goal is game 1 but it would be nice if he could get a preseason game in as well, even tho it’s unlikely

I don't see the need, what's a few more days of rest.. Taking shots on Senators or Canadiens practice goalies won't make much of a difference.

I’m guessing that Saturday game will be very near the actual lineups… hence the 3 day break after the second last game…. You’re probably right tho

I imagine you wished JT didn’t get hurt last postseason then?

Doubt they take any chances and rush anyone back especially a core player. From Matthews perspective, it's not like he needs training camp to make the team, as you say it would be nice to be more prepared but in this case I think the conservative approach from both sides.

I genuinely felt terrible about the whole accident.

Yeah like I was saying it would be nice to see him play but I also consider that a bonus since I don’t truly expect it.
