Thanks Trevor
Rittich getting the start in net? Always like when former Flames come to town.

Flyers could have been tired, but we just got back to our time zone, that's a poor excuse.

It's great to see Kylington getting some top 4 play. His speed is noticeable. Playing with Tanev seems to bring the best out of his partners.

Wonder how James Neal is doing in Edmonton, glad we dodged that bullet.

Ritchie may not have a goal yet, but he's been providing a lot of untangables to that line.

McJohnny looks so much better, anyone thinking he might not be a Sutter player can put that baby to bed.

So if I had to pick a new captain for the Flames this week, I think it would have to be Tanev, can't believe the Canucks let him walk and went after Nate Schmidt instead. Thanks Dim Jim.

Anyone know how Zary is recovering? With Pelletier lighting it up for the Heat. I'd be curious to see what he can do as well.

I'm willing to go this far on Eichel: If the Flames can get him for draft picks (no matter how many, almost) and non-active roster players then I'd say go for it, get him fixed and if he can be ready for the playoffs then the Flames will have hit an absolute home run.
But this is the year to go for broke. Keep Johnny even if he doesn't resign by the deadline. Push all the chips to the middle of the table. Pure guts. I love it.
And why wouldn't Buffalo go for it if they can make a deal that makes them seriously stronger next year? Draft picks that they could keep or trade to other teams for active roster players? (Bergevin might be getting ready to pack it in already, for one obvious example.)
Treliving has made some pretty sharp deals in the past but this would top them all.

I guess I will be re-subbing my center ice for the season and hope for a month discount and if I dont get it I dont get it. I watched this game, while the flyers were very much out of gas in the third the flames were very on the mark: empty netter on the second try, the scoring again within the dying minutes. They have been looking very sharp, as for Johnny if he is willing to sign I am not sure the cost matters remember you have Gio off the books now when you were planning on him even with Matty coming up. Lucic seems to be the deal of the decade right now for Neal almost making the value of his cap hit. I think trading for Eichel is a mistake, let others over pay as buffalo wont just cut him loose.

Yes, I am sure the 1.9M counting against 0 of their lines for this 1 year, hurts as much as the 5M on their opponents 4th line. sure Lucic has potted a couple nice 5 hole semi break aways this season, but I'm guessing the kassian vs Tkachuk stats so far this season break that even. How has that 9M cap hit vs a 3.2M hit looked so far? oh and lucic has another year at 5... leaves lots of room for Mangi, dube, ect... while trying to resign mcjohnny and mctkachuk with those base salaries... Good luck....

how many fa this coming offseason while being forced to hang on to lucic while trying to retain mcjohnny and extend monny and 88 and Tkachuk???

1)Kass has scored 3 goals on just 5 shots. If you think his production is sustainable, you've got fewer brain cells than...well, Zack Kassian

2)The Flames have ~$30M to spend to the cap (if it remains flat) next season. Pretty sure they can handle JG/Mangiapane and Chucky for less than that

3) Dube is already signed for 2 more years after this one.

4)Yeah, Looch has one more year... but guess what becomes tradeable if you had to? That's right, a 1 year term, regardless of the cap hit.

Little bit of a sore spot? You forgot to mention Lucic 2 fights already this year. The fact that the 1.9 cap hit for Real Deal + the cap hit of his replacement.
As far as comparing that bonehead Kassian to Chucky, you can't be serious? That's your argument? come back at Christmas and flaunt your wisdom again.
Good to have a relevant BOA for a change.

There's clearly something here. I can feel it. Now why don't you guys go, get a room, lock the door behind you, let the magic happen, and spare the rest of us the middle schooler drama.

Ah yes, most others. Hence why they started a pool where the first rule was that JB, Jero, and Iggy are not invited. And won't be invited.

Ahhh yes, 30M to resign/replace your entire 1st and 4th lines and 3 defensemen. Easily achievable.

They may have to make Lucic disappear after this year. After July 1, he's only owed $1million. He shouldn't be hard to move to a team with cap space.

Flyers flew in from Vancouver

Flames flew in from Pittsburg

Both were playing 4 in 6...no excuses

Oilers have Seattle flying in from Seattle and played last night and then the Preds after they play in Calgary lol

League could at least try to hide setting up McDavid

Not very smart of the league, but goes to show that like everyone else we knew they needed a little help. Wonder what they'll do for them in the playoffs?

LMAO, you really need to do some homework...

Johnny and Chucky will cost around $20M. Lindholm is still here, so I'm not sure what you're even talking about...

the 3 defensemen you're talking about include Zadorov (overpaid), Gudbranson (cheap) and Stone/Kylington. We have Mackey signed for next year already, so he takes one of those spots and you have to fill 2 others with the other $9M.

The 4th line can be/should be super cheap anyways. Excuse me for not getting worried that we can't find another Pitlick/Ritchie/Lewis out there for a minimum deal IF our kids don't take those spots.
