Ehlers is most certainly not back in form.

Should have specified more on that. Didn't have a spectacular game last night, but has been finding his way into the scoresheet now, unlike the first few games

Thought that Ehlers was fine last night.

What do you guys think of a GM who played a card, or turned a blind eye? He had to have heard Quin say we have to delay this with our cup run!!! Sad!

He also didn't know of any actual assaults at the time. Just that an employee was being an idiot and sending inappropriate texts/emails and that management told him that they would address his behavior. I believe Chevy when he said that he had no prior knowledge of an actual assault taking place. It's brutal, and Chevy will certainly carry this with him going forward. Kyle Beach had his career, and life shattered as a result of this predator, followed by terrible leadership who said they would address it, but instead gave the predator a shining recommendation so that he could carry out his disgraceful abuse of power on minors. As much as this whole situation disgusts me, I do have a hard time pinning this on Chevy. There were at least 20 people with more knowledge and involvement in these dealings than Chevy. Its a brutal situation, and I won't be surprised if more victims surface. Predators never stop, and based on the timeline he had multiple years of "good behaviour"? I highly doubt that.

Very well said Bikeguy ! I had little to no doubt all along that Chevy was clean in all this. Can't believe some posters on here are still harping on Chevy as if there is still some guilt to pin. Basically trying to create something out of nothing.

I'll also add that both Chevy and Chipper were extremely professional throughout this whole process and the biggest takeaway from that press conference is how much both of them truly care about the team, the sport , and the Winnipeg community. The last statement by Chipman in particular struck a cord about how lucky Winnipeg is to just have a team let alone one that is currently contending. Think about that next time someone on here complains about the Jets blowing a lead.

I hope that both Chevy and Chipman continue to run the management of this team for many more years to come. Every player that comes here always says how impressed they are at how professional The Jets' mgmt is , today you got to see some of that real-time.

P.S Just thought I'd repost this because it is important in the bigger picture and I posted it just before the new thread hit

With regards to the Dallas game, I usually try and take away the positives. The shootout win was the bonus but one can't help notice the long cycles the Jets had going at various points in the game which is partially the result of rolling three talented lines relatively evenly. I see some Jet's blowout games in our future starting with the Blackhawks.

The other takeaway the last few games ( and most of the season really) is that the real PLD has come to play and do so as a major power center. While it's still a bit early to evaluate that Laine trade, I'd say that Chevy is once again looking very good in what was a delicate situation at the time, and based on the play of 5th round Dmitri Rashevsky, I'd say that 3rd in 2022 will somehow be quite valuable.

It would be great to see Nash and Toninato out of the lineup as they bring zero to the table.

He's still making things happen out there, just a bit snake bitten, they'd be (frank)ed without Ehlers.

Nash has been out of the lineup, Toninato is actually a pretty solid 4th liner.

Ehlers has been great! I do not think that Copp would be having the success he is without him.

Not a big Uncle Paul fan, however I do have to admit the 3 line system may be the best thing for this club as PLD, Ehlers, Svechnikov and Copp get more ice time as a result.

One more thing, I think we should be looking at shopping Heinola. No way he gets into the line-up in the next two years. We should be selling high on him right now. Looking at what Brannstrom in Ottawa has become, this is the time to move him.

Right now it appears Beaulieu is the 7th Dman although his contract ends after this season which moves Henola into that spot. Based on contracts we don't lose DeMelo or Dillon fro three years , however once Heinola is in 7th spot he would get regular ice time on any injury to the top six, which in that position is not unlikely. Heinola could also see time this year under a similar injury scenario.

Chevy is definitely going for it this year so I don't think we give up talented depth such as Heinola in a trade. At the end of the day the Jets don't need much improvement except maybe the fourth line ( and we have no cap space) so I don't see any Heinola trade worthwhile at this point.

Curious, so would you move Beaulieu or hold onto to him until the New Year when more teams need help on the blueline? LA and Ottawa are desperate for help. Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure they would keep him. Adds depth on defense and he's proven he will do what's asked of him. "Good in the room" as I think the coach puts it.

Unless for some unforeseen reason, the Jets fall out of the playoff race, I would think the Jets are probably standing pat. For one thing they have no cap to play with at this time.

As well, Beaulieu gives them much needed depth and toughness at playoff time. Like they say, you can never have enough D!

Svechnikov has given them a boost at forward, and, should they keep the lines in tact, he gives them added skill at forward.

The one Jet who is a UFA next season, Adam Copp, has played above expectations in these quarters, and I can't see them moving him, even though he probably walks at season's end. But hopefully not. Really like Copp at C!

So, like I said, barring injury, the Jets basically stand pat. Of course injuries could suddenly change that. They do need to tighten up the defense and change their penalty killing system though. But will they?

Hold him for now , at least until Heinola gets some more playing time on the Moose and starts to show he can be that 7th guy on a regular basis.

I will predict that tomorrow night's game will be the Jets first blowout of the season. I'm thinking 5-1 , 6-2 , or some win by 4 goals or more. This one will be a fun game to watch

It's likely best this board doesn't speculate on the reasons.

The one good thing about this is that we may find out more quickly about our back-up goal-tending. Patrick Kane is in town!

I'm not sold on the idea that Comrie is the answer. He has played "okay" thus far, but we'll see.

They say he's a terrific kid so hope I'm wrong and he IS the answer.

I just hope that he does not have Covid. Reports are that he is not feeling well and if he is not I hope he is resting as opposed to gallivanting at all these events in Manitoba.

Heinola should never be behind Stanley on any depth chart. He is and will continue to be better than Stanley
