Where’s the “barf” emoji (no, not the Mog/John Candy….)?

This has been a very disturbing several games. Blash’s blender is on full puree’. Some will say that it’s because Larkin & Bert have been out, but he started slowly doing that early in the season. I’d think, minus when we’re Bert-less, he’d be focused on building some chemistry given how short camp was….guess not. He’s panicking and making Wing-a-ritas full steam ahead. I got that some sort of shake-up may be required, but…..c’mom, man!

Why Stecher isn’t in is beyond me. He bring such energy to the games he’s in. Oesterle & Rowney? Meh. I thought Suter would’ve brought an injection of speed & energy, but thus far he’s been disappointing. He’s got to step up. I know folks will jump on the difference between the Hawk’s & the Wing’s lines, but Suter isn’t a slouch. Time to make the doughnuts, Suter.

Read tons of posts about how the lines are jacked, the special teams stink, stats are down, etc…. Kids need to step up. The race to the basement seems to be getting tight. I didn’t expect to be contenders, by any stretch of the imagination, so I’m not as angry as some of the others here. I understand WHY they’re angry, though. Lordy Gordy I understand. What burns my bacon is how abysmal the special teams are and how much more disjointed EVERYTHING seems this year. Yeah, we came out of the gate strong-ish, but the stats Jeremy posted made me drive the porcelain bus…. Embarrassing. Heck, BUF gutted their locker room and are STILL better than the Wings. Wonder why that is?!?!? Gonna be a long year. Add in the fact that I can’t get Center Ice on the NHL app anymore, and I’m ready to punch butterflies. Binging Wing’s games when I get home doesn’t sit well with the wife….cuts into Christmas movies on Hallmark.

If I weren’t blogging, I think my wife would ban me from watching the games. When I was a worship pastor/leader she used to joke that we could never invite anyone over during a game or while playing Call of Duty. I sound like a possessed sailor during an exorcism.

I find it helps sometimes to turn the sound off. But, even that is just a momentary help

I grew up with the Port Huron Flags. Doc Emerick was the play-by-play guy on WPHM for several years. The Flags had “The French Collection” Line (Serge Menard, Rob Souve’, & Rickie Souick). The Flags stunk the place up, but I can remember Doc interviewing Menard who said he could pick out Doc’s voice. Amazing how a voice can carry in an empty barn!!!!

And how. I miss Doc. So few play by play guys show equal enthusiasm for both teams on a big play. Doc one of the rare ones who did.

Doc would meet with both team’s media reps and go over proper pronunciation of the player’s names and interesting tid-bits about them. My hockey coach worked with the Flags and talked about how Doc never met a person he didn’t get to know. He was a true gem.

Now, that being said, Detroit’s Ken Daniels is much the same; great guy, gets to know both side’s players, their names are pronounced properly, etc…. I watch other games and hear the announcers consistently mispronounce names and not really care. Love some Kenny Daniels. Micky’s just Micky! Dude slays me. His one-liners are legendary. Heard Don Cherry comment on Micky one time about how Mick had more, and better one-liners than he (Cherry) did. Broadcasters can draw in fans. It’s a rarity to have broadcasters who truly care enough to do the things our guys (and especially Doc) do.
