I hope we have a better performance today...
I also hope to see the coaching staff get a shake up very soon too.... Maybe I need to write to Santa |

Don't want to see anyone injured, but glad I don't have to look at Nate Thompson for the foreseeable future. Figures it takes a rash of injuries for him to be out of the lineup.
The goaltending has slipped off a bit, and suddenly the Flyers have been non competitive. What an absolute mess with no ending in sight. |

The goaltending has been dragged down by the play in front of it. Give up too many goals where the goalie doesn't have a chance and the goalies eventually start to let in some they should have stopped. Age old fact of hockey live: Team and goalie play will either lift one another or drag one another down if good/bad for long enough. |

Unfortunately this season is becoming eerily similar to last year…I agree there are some improvements, but maybe just not enough…time will tell. |

Nate Thompson is washed. AV still playing him was coaching malpractice and grounds for removal in my opinion. It is a strong sign of incompetence.

Before you know it we will be on to the next GM and coach and literally nowhere. No direction, no identity.
It's one thing to have a 46 year Cup drought with no end in sight, but if things keep progressing this way it will be 6 playoff misses in the last decade with one series win during that time. Sorry, that is unacceptable.

Get the ball rolling for beating the dead horse.
RR is great at things but he stinks at things,
the numbers don't lie neither does the eye test.

I blame Fletcher for signing him. If he's not here there would be no temptation for Vigneault to play him. Thompson was signed during the first few days of free agency. Think about how absurd that is. He was made a priority. If the Flyers didn't sign him in July, he would be out of the NHL right now. |

The situation is worse than that. After the inevitable removal of the GM the credit card will be maxed out and little will be left in future assets for the next regime. Thus, the next rebuild will take even longer, and when you have a management stooge like Dave Scott who doesn’t have the gumption to build a team the right way in a cap environment the process will simply repeat itself. |

I don’t have an issue with Nate Thompson if he isn’t an every night player. Our 13th forward at best. We have to have one of the worst fourth lines in hockey.
I personally am not as down on this team as everyone else because we aren’t healthy but we are hard to watch at the moment. I think we all need to let things play out before being so negative.
I haven’t enjoyed the rollercoaster ride that is this board from July to December. I think the majority of fans have had too high an expectation of the team as a whole have their expectations have been let down. These same fans have dumped on Martin Jones from day one, who has been great.
Rule of thumb, just go against the majority and you’ll likely be right. |

It's basically near the point where I stop complaining and just become apathetic. That is the worst thing for any sports franchise is when fans stop caring. |

They just don't have the players and talent to contend in the deepest division in the league. |

Is it a legal play to jump on with the Kraken? This Flyers organization has taken a dramatic stumble and I don’t see a shed of light at the end of the tunnel |

Why do you blame the poor guy so much? Don't you think his job is to bring home the bacon and "not build a team the right way"? Dude is bringing home the bacon.
When bringing home the bacon becomes the same thing as building the team the right way, he will build the team the right way.

Good chance the process will take even longer due to aging players with high cap hits clogging up the cap. Well said. Hey, are they relevant again? |

Is this what bringing home the bacon looks like? I bet they had to hire more people to handle the increase in ticket sales from the bacon coming home. Businesses are probably on a waiting list to advertise with the Flyers as well as they're doing.

Is it though? Look at stadium attendance for Hawks turn of the century. Look at same for Pens you know when. Was it the worst for those sports franchises?
In the NFL I agree with you. Thats why Chip Kelly was fired before season even ended, when fans started to leave during games. But not in the NHL.
The only way this franchise will turn around if fans reduced support (by say 20%) from competence (at best) and only returned to near 100% for contending (at least)
No franchise can absorb a 20% drop year after year. Damn straight the same Dave Scott will do what is needed to build a better team.
