Watching some of the kraken sabres game last night i will admit i felt a little better about the loss once i heard that the kraken also recently beat washington and carolina. Its still a huge bummer that that is the best they could come up with in a record staking game against an expansion team. I believe brunette was the pp coach and we know he cant coach that for poop! |

I can assure you, 28% in the dot is not why you lost. |

Hey Matt,
While I can't point to any obviously questionable coaching decisions (unlike the Rowe days where the list was growing faster than I could take notes), I am also wondering if he is the guy for the long term? The risk of changing systems in season vs attempting to maintain against a declining trajectory is a huge question for Zito. Obviously, Brunette isn't Q and doesn't have Q's extensive experience. This could be especially rough as we get closer to or enter the playoffs.
An orchestra filled with the world's greatest musicians still needs a good conductor to get everyone on the same page, playing the same song, same tempo, etc.
I'm concerned because the Panthers don't seem to put a poor game behind them; this year one loss turns into 3 or 4. I think there's a coaching/leadership element to that. The power play needs fixing and giving up a shortie is a sure sign of an impending losing streak.
I don't know if the team dwells on the injury to Barkov or not. Losing Duclair, Marchment, & Forsling isn't a help either.
Let's hope Bob plays strong tonight and the Panthers get the opportunity to put a handful in the net. It wouldn't hurt to have someone cover Ovechkin either.
Go Panthers! |

Certainly not. It also didn’t help matters either. The cats have just been kind of “off” in spurts lately. |

Go Panthers! - JimboCoppertone
Great thoughts as usual, Jimbo!
Having a stick on Ovi at all times is crucial - especially when the Caps are on the PP and they feed him that one-timer.
You’re right about dwelling on bad games. They have been sort of “off” (as I mentioned to the poster above) lately and bad games seem to haunt them.
I think the coach watch is going to be interesting from this point on… |

I thought one of the early rumors after JQ was dismissed was that Torts was going to assume the reins as the Panthers' coach? I suspect Torts is kind of cut from the same old school cloth as JQ so maybe that would be a natural fit? Also, Bruce Boudreau is still out there somewhere as well, isn't he? And almost forgot about Babcock and Julien. Bottom line -- if the Panthers do move in the direction of brining in a head coach with NHL experience, there appear to be lots of options. |

I believe that several current, important Panthers fled Torts and Columbus. Zito also came from Columbus and would have exceptional insight into the situation there. I don't think Torts is a good fit for this team. |

Like I said before Knight does not have cat-like reflexes. They say he got nerves of steel, but he plays like he is on valium. The Panthers need to shoot more on the net and crash the net. They pass the puck too much giving the opposition time to set up so that no puck reaches the net. You can lead a horse to water but you can make them drink. Get to the front of the NET! |

I’m with you, Harv. I don’t get how he’s not in the lineup more. |

Everyone collapsing down low and that leaves a fresh WSH guy to jump into the play and score that fourth goal. |

I agree with the slow movements of Knight at times. He sometimes looks like he’s not ready - as if the play/shot jumps up on him. |

Caps coming in with the swagger and all-around game. Taking it to the Cats to show them that they’re the top dogs.
Gotta stay composed here. |

Haha thats exactly what happened. I got ready quick and put the game on my phone got to watch them tie and take the lead. Guess it must have been quite the pep talk in 2nd intermission. |
