Such a lazy list.

Basically guys that have publicly asked for trades or aging vets.

My five year old could come up with a better list.

And why are the oilers interested in everyone??
How are they contenders? They were 9-1 at the start of the year on the easiest schedule in the nhl and had goaltending stealing games. They’re 7-9 since. They stink. They have the two best players in the game then a bunch of crap. Not contenders at all. McDavid and Drai are already showing signs of tiring because Tippet over plays them.

Do better.

So basically just scanned UFAs on teams missing the playoffs. Shocking stuff. Chiarot is funny. While Ek is talking about Montreal moving Gallagher and Price, I said any GM they hire will focus on moving Chiarot, but otherwise just evaluate the rest of the roster. I noticed a couple weeks later TSN had Chiarot listed as a top rental target, and now here too.

Ek seems to miss the mark on a lot of his comments...

Nobody in NYI feels they are paying dearly because of Nick Leddy. They had to dump his contract. An awful schedule and injuries/Covid is a bigger factor than Nick Leddy.

Ben Chiarot is 30 years old and in his 8th season. What development time are you referring to? He's been pretty steady for the last 3 or 4 years. The epitome of consistency and not someone on a developmental trajectory.

Philly is not going to upgrade Martin Jones. He is not the reason for their struggles. Literally the lowest priority. And the price on Khudobin is not high. They will be lucky to get a mid-round pick. Waivers is possible. Playoff run? Nobody is looking to Khudobin for a playoff run.

Good stuff.

You expect too much. You want them to actually work? How dare you.

do people just wait for a post to poop on Eklund? he needs content to make the site relevant and to have people comment to generate ad traffic

it's a basic run of the mill post, at least he's not suggesting Price for RNH again... that was the dumbest thing since the Brodeur to Washington trade rumor

I guess it’s too much to ask that hockey bloggers actually know something about hockey!

Yes we need content. But so much of it is irrational. Like Philly is his hometown team. They are 2nd last in their division, under .500, two wins in the last 10 games, and just fired a coach. They are not making the playoffs. Yet the story is how they are going to acquire a 3rd goalie, and I guess waive Martin Jones. There is no logic. Seems like an article about the Flyers being sellers would make more sense. They have 5 UFA d-men, not to mention Giroux, Brassard. I dunno. That could be a post.

You guys are really going to double down on Fleury to Colorado? He most certainly was not the reason Vegas won that series, he just didn't look quite as cooked as he did versus Montreal but was still mediocre throwing out a .912 save percentage.

I guess I need to keep telling myself that these are the same clowns who told us the Avs needed to trade Devon Toews (?!!) because they wouldn't be able to protect him in the expansion draft when everyone who knew anything about the Avs was sure EJ would waive his no-trade.

https://www.hockeybuzz.co...ffseason-Buzz--1/1/111890

Or, alternatively, Toews (and a pick, and a prospect) needed to be traded for Seth Freaking Jones.

https://hockeybuzz.com/bl...or-trade-markets/1/112059

BTW, I went to a hockey game last night and saw Darcy Kuemper out-duel Bob throwing down a .935 against the 2nd highest scoring team in the NHL while standing on his head.

Correct spelling is "Toes" per Kevin Allen's blog from yesterday.

MAF ..............Ask Vegas if MAF is money in high pressure situations ALA Montreal last year when a memorable MAF gaffe cost the Golden Knights that series And also the playoff gaffes while in PIttsburgh You people sure have short memories Yeah he is a nice guy but not reliable in the playoffs Exactly why Team Canada never had him as their goalie

So if I'm reading this correctly:

Darcy Kuemper to Colorado for Toews and a pick? E5 ?

There have been a lot of e4 roomers lately but it seems none of them made the top ten trade list. I’d like to see updates on Price, Gallagher, Monihanian, Jonathan Toews to Calgary, Korpisalo etc. did all those hot roomers just die?

Haha. I called it this morning. They have Holtby. Oettinger has played great. There is zero trade interest in Khudobin, age 35, making $3.33m this year, AND next year. He got hot last year, but this is not a guy whose value is rising, as Ek literally said this morning. He isn't a guy taking you on a playoff run. And if you move Khudobin from the tight defensive system in Dallas and put him on the Oilers or Avs or Flyers he would get lit up like a Christmas tree. So if Philly is VERY high on him (Ek's words) then we should see a waiver claim right? Too funny. That has to be a first...guy on a top 10 trade list gets waived hours later.

Now that Rutherford is in Vancouver could we see Boeser heading to Pittsburgh?

That was a topic. Rutherford comes out today and says he is not looking to make any big moves but will instead take some time to evaluate his roster. Any logical GM would do the same ( ie Montreal is not about to trade Gallagher and Price).

I'm not sure why you keep linking the Flyers to goalies? It makes no sense based on the fact that goaltending hasn't really been an issue for them to date. Perhaps you are stuck in never never land thinking that the Flyers are always looking for goaltending? They have much bigger fish to fry starting with lazy overpaid veterans. Thanks!

Exactly. Boeser started scoring as soon as Boudreau got there. Boudreau told him to start shooting the puck at the 1st practice. Boeser isn’t going anywhere until Vancouver sees what happens after their 4 game streak.

He isn't going anywhere all year unless someone grossly overpays. Teams without a GM (Montreal) don't make blockbuster trades (Price and Gallagher). Teams with a brand new GM (Vancouver) usually evaluate for awhile before doing anything significant. But Ek is hearing things so maybe I'm wrong...

Pens PP has never been the same since Kessel left, but I don't think he's a match with Malkin or Sullivan.
