That's a fun read Trevor and sure to give us lots to talk about while our boys are in quarantine.
I like the last proposal because of the 3 low cap hit years we would have with Chychrun and I think our minor league depth is strong enough right now that trading those picks wouldn't cripple us.

Adding Chychrun and gaining the cap space to go get another difference maker would make us a serious cup contender!

I think he gets more than that.

Trevor, the Hamilton trade was that reasonable because BOS could not get him signed. He was quietly shopped and Calgary got a steal. Chychrun is signed at a very friendly deal for another 3 years. If they are looking to be wowed, we have to do better than Zaddy + picks or just picks. I think you would have to try and have the best offer out there. Young NHL player, young D, plus a prospect + 1st. Maybe even more than that.

Would you think that Dube + Valimaki + Zary + 1st would b enough? If you were Yotes fans, would that make you feel that you haven't lost the trade?

Maybe instead of one of those draft picks, Calgary should offer Arizona a rink to play games at.

If I were Treliving I’d pass on giving up that much for Chychrun. His offensive stats were great with a powerplay and 5v5 offence built around his shot last year, but he’s been completely exposed this year in a #1 role.

Add to that his rebuilt ACL, hip injury that had him on LTIR in 2020, and lingering tendinitis in his knee and the price adjusts according to risk. Currently, he has an undisclosed upper body injury that has him on at very least a two week timeline to return.

I just can’t see that price being worth paying given he still has plenty of developing to do and has a questionable injury history just five seasons into his career. Giving up assets comparable to what Eichel/Stone/Karlsson brought in is unrealistic in my opinion.

I don't even think that there are any Coyotes fans. The trade proposal would be more likely a 1st round, prospect and 2nd rounder IMO.

Hey Trevor, with the Flames in limbo for a bit how about a blog on the Heat? They sit first in the Pacific, haven’t lost on home ice, Mitch Love first year coach, Pelletier leading the team in scoring, lots there to talk about.
