I assume like the last two seasons this season will be shrunk losing some games rather then compressed. Logistically there’s no way they’ll be able to reschedule all of these games imo. So it’s great we very well may have a healthy lineup for the first time since the beginning of the season but making the playoffs will most likely become even harder if we have some games taken away from us. Can’t make up the ground if you can’t play those games in hand…

They have the "Olympic break" to schedule some makeup games if need-be. Maybe we don't get a full 82, but I think they'll make up a decent chunk

The one reason we may not need to shrink the schedule is because they can use the time allotted for the Olympics which the NHL players will undoubtedly skip.

I’ve heard that the regular season would actually be extended.

Having the break available to make up games might mean they don't have to extend it too far too. I'm sure they don't want to eat well into the offseason again and throw off the whole league schedule of operations.

It’s official. No NHLers in Beijing.

Also, NHL says the Olympic break will now be used to get in postponed games.

#Isles HC Trotz stated that Ryan Pulock (IR) is still doing therapy but should be on the ice in a few days.

No timetable for when he will be game-ready.

Oh God, that's all we need.

I don't think he's a bad coach. I mean, I definitely would have preferred him over Crappy or Weight. But I'll stick with Trotz, thank you.

I think it's more the fact that Trotz has done a terrible job since his hiring. The bum who hired him should be fired as well. The Organization has been an absolute dumpster fire since they came to town.

Obviously, I don't want to fire Trotz, but man can these coaches drive fan bases nuts. I still don't understand the Zajac playing for Wahlstrom once he was healthy in the Tampa series, I never understand how when Veterans stink they refuse to sit them...

To me sitting Beau and not sitting a guy like Bailey, Chara, and Palmieri ends up losing the team. When I say Clutterbuck's reaction to Sharon's interview I saw a guy who was annoyed. When Beau got back I didn't see the young kid who would come back with a monstrous fire in his belly after being sat.. I saw a guy who is annoyed that he is still getting zero respect from the coach while these other guys never get called out... Eventually you risk losing the team when you only hold some guys accountable. I think this team is very close to that point. .... Trotz earned respect and got it when he got to the Islanders. He can lose it though if he keeps letting some guys suck every game without even missing a shift.

This also falls on Lou of course.. bringing in these old Vets who are above the law b/c of what they did elsewhere.. Everyone talked about how close knit this team was and Lou traded Toews away for very little.... at the time I thought it was b/c he was going to lose him in the expansion draft for nothing (don't talk to me about the cap. You can easily make moves to get cap room. they did that last summer easily.. $4 mill is not why Toews was traded).
He then trades Leddy using same excuse.... then allows Eberle to get taken protecting MM.. nuts.
This team has Toews last year they win the cup...
if they played Wahlstrom they win the cup..
