Thats an impressive leading after 2 periods stat for the Blues...almost as impressive as the Pens breaking it

Realistically, what would Halak cost? I'm all about getting him.

Nice comeback win. ERod has been a lifesaver so far.

Flyers without Giroux, Provorov, Konecny, Sanheim, Couturier, and Ellis...this will not be a close game.

I think this Philly game will be a lot closer than people think. Pittsburgh makes backups and noobs look like vets. What do you think a whole team of them will look like vs us haha

I just came back here to ask if its possible this gets PPD'd this eve.

Are all the Flyer absences covid related?

Couturier and Ellis are legit injured. The others, yes.

Edit: I get it, and I'm vaccinated...but this is just getting silly.

Crazy times indeed, man. I too am vaccinated but this is indeed getting f'n silly ...our (Newfoundland) active case numbers are waaaaaaay higher than they've ever been, in the thousands for first time ever, yet, hospitalizations are in single digits. We have fairly heavy restrictions on the go again now...which includes no team sports allowed...so I cant play when I usually play 3 or 4 times a week. Its rotting my soul as I type this haha.

If Jarry plays like this in the playoffs we can absolutely contend. We didn't even have Geno, Carter or Zucker in last night. I know Zucker has had trouble scoring but he's been playing well and getting chances. I'm thinking a strong 3rd pair dman and a backup goalie and hope we're hot at the right time.

My only concern for Jarry is burnout. Players need to experience playoff woes to learn and get better, so I'm personally not worried about last season. He's a different goalie this year, so you can see he's taken a step in his development. I think we forget last year was his first year as a starter and there's definitely a learning curve.

I feel for Zucker. He's really been playing so well on both ends of the ice and just not finding daylight, but IMO if the Pens can move him they should.

Will never happen, but honestly, Martin Jones should be on your radar. He's actually been having a really good year.

When Malkin comes back, who comes off the PP? Erod looks tremendous over there. The worst thing Sully can do is chop a guy down when he's white f'n hot.

I think it's gotta be Rust.

Agreed, let's get a backup sooner than later and a Zuckerove works for me.

I take Rust off. ERod already has 6 power play goals and is firing the puck so naturally. He has to stay.

Philly would have to lightyears out of the race to make a trade like that with the Pens.

My thoughts exactly. Just knowing how Sully sometimes manages the team, I'm not sure. I could definitely see Erod dropped to the second unit while leading the team in PP goals.

Last trade we made with the Pens, if I remember correctly, was the rights to Dan Hamhuis after he refused to sign with us.

So yeah, will never happen. But it would be a nice fit. We'll trade him for one slightly used Jake Guentzel...maybe throw in your well-used Sidney Crosby to even it out.

I didn't think I could hate espn anymore than I did before the recent broadcast deal but espn made it possible by giving espn+ exclusive rights to some games like the one tonight, to squeeze more money out of fans. I refuse to pay extra for it and I missed seeing the Pens beat the Caps earlier because of this.

I guess I will have to listen on the radio.

This game probably would have been postponed with all the Flyers players out due to covid but I would not be surprised if it is being played anyway because it is an espn+ game.

I think you are right, because Streit was traded to Tampa then to us.

That Hamhuis trade was so annoying, the guy literally said he was going UFA and we still gave you a pick for his rights.

Just going to write that... A third team was used with Streit. Not going to happen, but that would be the only way.

Crazy thing was, we traded Ryan Parent for his right, and we would have gotten a compensatory 7th round pick if Hamhuis didn't sign. So when the Pens came and offered a 3rd rounder for him, the Flyers had to do it.

Sadly, that 3rd rounder was part of the package to get Bryzgalov, so yeah...this is why Philly can't have nice things.

Edit: That 3rd rounder (Harrison Ruopp) and the other pick (2012 3rd rounder) from the Bryzaster trade both were sent to Pittsburgh for Michalek and became Oskar Sundqvist.
