Get the Frank out of here man, what did you play junior B! 9 times out of 10 locker rooms do not have a hoorahh leader. I think from watching the behind the scenes stuff it clearly showed that Jake and G spoke to the team and showed that they cared. And what are people considering a ball buster here, Hayes would fit that mold and I’m not exactly sure it’s helping in any way

I don’t remember Robbie Moore, but 67 is way too young to go. Condolences to his family.

He was 5’ 5”? I remember when goalies were often the smallest guys on the team. Could you imagine a goalie that size in the nhl now?

Alex Lyon was probably the smallest goalie as of recent for the Flyers and he was what, 5’11?

Junior B would be higher than tier2 - B level that may have played. Go chase more players in the parking lot you clown.

Who said anything about a hoorah leader? Can you show were I said any such thing? Does CC strike you as a player others will run through a wall for? Culture in a looker room is real. They cared lol. Give me a fn break.

Give me a goalie who stops the puck. Scouts and teams are way to focused on size when it comes to goaltending imo. The ego comes into play when they see a 6'4 goalie who they think they mold into an NHL player.

Any goalie under 6'0 has a very hard (junior-colleges) road unless he is just flat out stud. Despite being better than goes over that thrsehold.

I just think there are far fewer players these days under 6'0".

So CC is solely responsible for culture? Shouldn’t the GM assemble the right pieces to establish the culture? You’ve been in plenty of Locker rooms, give me a break. Not every team is going to have a Chris Pronger. The fact is when you are winning the culture is good and when you don’t the culture is supposedly bad. Was Ovie a terrible leader and then miraculously change when they won?

Exactly. The goalies are all tall and athletic nowadays. Im a fan of our current goalie, least of our worries position wise

Is he solely responsible? Of course not.

Bottom line is CC has been the defacto leader for x amount of years. Years where there have been various and diff players in and out of the lineup. Years where the one consistent thing any fan can count in is them coming out slow and unprepared to play way to many time. He has been the one constant in all of that. But hey he has showed he cares. He is in no way at all to blame for the slow starts. He cares.

He doesn't have the respect or clout that previous captains have had imo. Being a very good player doesn't equate to being a very good leader. He is part of the issue.

Winning and culture can be separated. They do not have to go hand in hand. You can have a team that isn't as talented or wins as much as others yet still have a good culture. Or is that not possible?

One of my all time favorite goalies was Roger Crozier...probably about 5'7 150 lbs soaking wet. Was a nervous wreck twitching and moving all the time but a heck of a goalie. Few here probably remember him with the Red Wings

Not 100% true though fair point. You just do not hear about them is all. They don't get the looks. under 6'0 is a death sentence for a goalie!!!

So the Flyers aren't getting any players back for tonight's game? It's the same lineup they played vs. Pittsburgh minus Brassard? Is this correct?

No reason to watch another poop show.

No, on the ice Hayes is NOT a ball buster. He plays like he doesn't give a shyte half the time. Being a jokster is not the kind of ball buster I was referring to. Take Crosby and Letang in poopsburgh. Those guys hate to lose with a passion!! Gonna guess if guys aren't givin it their all they hear about it and look at what they have done this year. Granted, those guys are more talented than anyone on the Flyers roster, but the entire team plays the same way. They all play hard!!

So tell me when this team in the past decade was more than a bubble team? They year we lost to the Rangers in 7 was probably the best of the bunch but unfortunately mason didn’t play the first 3-4 games.

You’re talking about a team that has won two cups recently. And again the biggest thing people seem to miss here is that the coach in Pittsburg clearly demands effort and accountability meanwhile we hired a college jerk off and then AV

Do you think Wayne Simmonds was asking guys how their day was or to knock it off or he’ll make them regret it?

Can you help me understand what that has to do with being prepared to play and coming out like they do not give a crap?

Simmonds was obviously one of their leaders in the room and they missed that element when he was traded. The problem is that his skill had eroded to the point that they needed to part ways with him. I'd love to see a few more guys with his passion on this team!!!
