Let’s talk trades. Exclude draft picks.
Who can the Flyers target in terms young nhl players or close to ready for the Flyers elite who are probably on the trade block.
Bill any thoughts or names? |

Although an exercise in futility with current leaders...
Id like any player who can finish off the rush or transition and carry play.
Be noticeable every shift game in game out,
Not be fragile mentally or have a soft cranium.
Not be made of glass.
But, I know as soon as any of our current trade chum is traded, they will immediately point to this organizations dysfunction and this board will explode in what if ands and buts.

I am actually glad I wont be able to watch this unwatchable, non competitive mess that has become the Philadelphia Flyers.
As has been said, this franchise needs a complete tear down from top to bottom. Nothing should be left out or ignored.
The entire organizational philosophy is outdated. Enough of drafting "Flyers type" players. It is obvious that those kinds of players can not compete in today's NHL.
Its made all the worse by the way this team continues to develop the players they DO have.
Everything must go. Build around the goalie. Change the scouts, the coaches, the training staff, the ownership. A Flyerfire sale.
I've watched this team religiously through all sorts of bad stretches, but this one has worn me out. |

Thing is with a corporate owned team all they care about is the accounting bottom line. They do not give a crap if they win or lose.
One thing about Clarke. He says always put the team first. Well he is full of crap. Otherwise he would step aside and not get involved any longer!!

Flyers will look to move:
Giroux
JVR (Cap retained)
Ristolainen
Braun
Maybe Yandle if he waives or Jones
|
|
|
|
They need a GM, scouts, and a coach that are all on the same page with the system they want to play. Then then need players who will fit that system and get rid of everyone else.
Individually, some of these players are good. As a team, they don't fit well together, they don't have an identity, and aren't going to get better. Pull the band aid off. |

I would be amazed if they got anything for Yandle. In fact I was watching the game last night and the thought crossed my mind that he may (and should) retire after he breaks the record. (Only to be passed by Kessel soon after)
I cant see any team giving up any sort of asset for a player who wouldn't be as good as an AHL callup.

Somebody traded for Gus last season, so there's gonna be a market for Yands. Even if just for his good guy locker room qualities. |

This is a major part of the problem. IMO they need to draft and acquire the most talented players PERIOD. And then find a coach who can adapt a system to those players. Player skill set should dictate what system is played, not the other way around.

Gus could still actually play if he was sheltered. He showed as much. Yandle IMO is done and should not be on the ice at all, for any team. Fletch would be fleecing any team who acquires him. That would be a nice change of pace for him actually.

I hear ya man. I don't get angry at goals against. I just sort of chuckle to myself. The willingness to care doesn't exist at the moment. |

I can't remember one, 1 on 1 battle that he has won and then add in he seems to make the wrong plays always, he is the leader of the Keystone cops. I really know how one player can be 100% wrong in whatever he does. When YEO put him out instead of York on the last PP, I was officially done with YEO.
