Flyers hockey is losing hockey. They need to get away from "flyers" hockey. |

The saga of Johnny Hockey has been long and complicated...
He signed in Calgary and has been there ever since?

Gaudreau has said about a million times that he loves Calgary and wants to stay long term. There are literally a dozen or more soundbites over the last 2-3 years. The only ones making it complicated is the media who keep linking him to NJ and Philly, because that's where he was born. There is no saga.
Also, the Flyers probably lost 9 straight because they didn't upgrade Martin Jones! |

Maurice certainly would be an upgrade over Ruff. But does he truly fix the mess we’re in or is he another re-tread with a 2-3 year shelf life? |

Maybe the last 47 years is a big enough sample size to say we need something other than 1974 "Flyers Hockey." Call me crazy. |

Actually Jones has performed pretty well on a bad team 6-6-0-2, 3.31 GAA and .908 sv%. Decent numbers for a backup |

I don't care who coaches the Devils. Until they find an actual NHL caliber goalie they're not going anywhere. Hell, I'd settle for an AHL caliber goalie at this point. |

"Flyer hockey" is what got us into this mess in the first place. |

I did not get to see much Winnipeg hockey. Paul Maurice seemed to do a decent job there, but came up empty. Any Winnipeg fans care to share there knowledge?
Also Johnny G has no connection to Devils. He grew up in south Jersey outside of Philly. He might love to got to Flyers, but doubt he has any more interest in Devils (perhaps less) than any other team. |

Likely signs an extension in Calgary, and can't see it going over 9 mil per, IMO. |

Why would that guy want to go to Philly? Much less re-sign there?

You don’t know that. And Ek certainly doesn’t know that. But don’t talk like you know he’s not leaving. I have no idea and neither do you unless you work for the Calgary Flames FO |

Actually both Jones and Hart have been good this year, but don’t let people who actually watch the team in person sway your opinion… |

What does 1974 have to do with anything?
Did Tocc play in 74?
Not sure what 1974 means. |

Remember all the articles about Taylor Hall signing in Calgary...because that's where he was born. Never happened. Wasn't even discussed. Seth Jones went to Chicago, not Colorado. Pietrangelo went to Vegas, not Toronto. Same thing with Gaudreau... |

This isn't news. The most likely scenario has always been Gaudreau resigning.
I think if the team was sold on keeping him around, he would've signed already, but I think both sides wanted to see what happened this year. If they miss the playoffs again or are an easy out in the first round, I doubt the team really wants to commit 70 million to Gaudreau. I could also see them moving Tkachuk and trying to do an actual rebuild to get out of the perpetual loop of mediocrity they've been stuck in for the past 30 years. |
