The Caps are not feeling the heat from NYI. The 8 playoff spots are already determined. Nobody is at risk of falling out of the playoffs. Also, I thought Ovie wanted Malkin? Did that fizzle out?
Also, take a look at Kuempers last 10 games. The Avs don't need MAF. They never did. |

I'm not claiming, any means, that playoffs are even close to likely for the Isles...but they're finally (mostly) healthy and starting to roll. They have 8 games in hand on the Caps and 4 games in hand on the Bruins. They'll catch Columbus any day now and the Red Wings eventually (they have 4 games in hand on CBJ and are only a point back of them. 7 games in hand on Detroit, 6pts back)
I don't think the wildcard spots are determined at all, despite the low odds for the Islanders. |

Silly season has started. Wait for the Excel spreadsheets who will make the playoffs. Now that's a fun time. Worth the price of admission

Wasn't a promise that he wouldn't be traded at the deadline how they convinced Fleury to not just retire after the trade? I could be remembering wrong, but I thought I read he was sick of moving his family around/being away from them if traded as a rental, so they gave him those assurances. I could be completely misremembering though. |

MAF is an upgrade for most these teams, but let's not pretend like he is a clutch big game goalie. He's been benched in the playoffs multiple times and his playoff numbers are mediocre, especially in Pittsburgh.

Gotcha. So probably unlikely he would be consenting to a trade to Edmonton I would assume |

You are delusional MAF single handedly blew the series against Montreal Another Fleury folly He crapped the bed in Pitt too and cost them at least another one or two cups He will do it again Best way to tell the future is to look into the past |

Kuemper is 18-1-1 in his last 20 games. After being hurt for a couple of weeks in December he's come back and gone 9-0-1 with a 2.30 GAA and .925 SV%. They aren't looking to replace him with playoff choker MAF.
Francouz is also healthy now. He's gone 6-0 this month with a couple of shutouts and a .943 SV%.
Does anyone here watch the Avs? |

Apparently not and thanks for saving me the time of writing up this post.
You know what seriously amazes me? Knowing hockey is supposedly Ek and the other dude's sole job. Do they think Fleury played well in the playoffs last year? Do they think Joe Sakic didn't see how Fleury played in the playoffs last year? Do they think Joe Sakic hasn't noticed how his goalies have played the last two months?
It's friggin' mind boggling. |

thank you.
at this point you may be only half joking about if anyone *actually* ever watches the Avs on the east coast (not live understandably, with the time difference). The false narratives surrounding that team have become absurd.
On yesterday's pod Yeldon commented that MacKinnon has yet to show leadership in the playoffs and Augello that there’s not been a recent year Kadri wasn’t suspended in the playoffs…..how the @#%! has everyone seemingly forgot about the bubble…2 years ago. Kadri had 18 points in 15 games and Wayne Gretzky said Mackinnon’s playoff performance was the best he’d seen in the modern era. |
