Seems all the talk for the Avs is focused around the forward position . I would look to the blueline where an upgrade is needed. Avs don't have much in the way of draft picks so what do they trade going the other way ? Futures ? Prospects ? I would trade Sammy G got a bigger D-man or power forward if there would be any available.

Giroux and Braun for Girard and a first in 2023. Flyers retain half the salary.

Barron slides in next season to replace Girard.

The Avs can win the Cup as they are, but goaltending is the one area that might be an issue. The only solution is MAF, and he would be quite the solution.....but at what cost? My guess is Sakic sits tight with no major moves.

Don't forget Drouin. Ek said he's been rumored to come to Colorado. Same with Jake Allen. MAF. Zacha. Sounds like the Avs are going to make a huge splash.

Hoping Giroux will tell Fletcher he wants to go to Colorado, he will help the PK and Faceoff big time.

This season offers the greatest opportunity before significant cap concerns arise. A big move should be made to acquire a top-10 goalie. Proceeding with Kuemper and Francouz is a wasted opportunity.

Francouz:
Among goalies to have played at least five games this season, he is tied for fifth in SV% (.927) and eighth in goals-against average (GAA).

Kuemper:
Since December he has won 12 of 16, .925 SV%, and has a 9.9 GSAx (goals saved above expected) which places him 13th overall for the entire season.

Can we start moving past the "muh goalies" stage of what the Avs need?

Barron is a Right Shot and will need a lot of refining before he comes close to providing what Girard does and even then, projects, at best, as a Derek Morris type and not a true QB type of D Man.
