Why would the Oilers have interest in an unproven college goalie? Skinner has potential, but clearly they are looking to add a legit NHL starter. So wrong.

Didn't you say Forsberg was getting traded and a bunch of readers said he would remain in Nashville.

Shesterkins numbers are pretty comparable to Kuemper. So maybe MAF to NYR can be a thing?

A week ago Ek named Erik Staal the franchise all-star for Carolina. He never won a Cup. But his brother Eric did. So did his brother Jordan. His other brothers Marc and Jared did not. So 2 of the 5 Brothers have Cups.

I guessed that Helleson would be the likeliest big piece for Giroux over a week ago before Friedman or anyone else wrote about it. Funny it comes up here after Friedge threw it out there in 32 thoughts a couple days ago, maybe the guys here should read me and they'd scoop Friedge:

https://www.hockeybuzz.co...d_id=177379&forum_id=1%22

I'll note again that he was Cam York's D partner for their big season with Hughes, Zegras, Caufield et al with the USNTDP. I would think this would be a (maybe small) extra incentive for Philly but no one else ever seems to mention it.

Isn’t it bad enough that Ek gets his hockey material wrong all the time? You really have to keep giving us Kevin’s lazy and lame ( not to mention often incorrect) articles now too?

5. For those wondering how Jesperi Kotkaniemi is faring with the Carolina Hurricanes, he has one assist in his past six games. He has played under 10 minutes in two of those games, under 11 minutes in one game, under 12 minutes in two others and 12:37 in the sixth game

He just came back from having Covid. He's on pace for 16 goals, 35-40 points while playing 4th line minutes. That's pretty good.

What kind of nonsense is this, Kevin? How are you so (frank)ing bad at this?

One of only 7 still active players who have won Olympic Gold, world Championships Gold and a Stanley Cup, but hey who can remember all those names?

I think this particular one shows that it's likely on purpose. Even semi serious hockey fans know that Eric Staal won a Cup with the Canes. It's a ploy to get ad clicks.

Braun would be a damned useful piece in the playoffs but if the Flyers retain half on Giroux I don't see how the Avs have room to take his salary. But that sort of trade is definitely in the ballpark. I'd hate to lose Compher, he's a pretty versatile guy but some salary has to go.

You guys really think a writer would make himself look like a fool for a few extra clicks? So they get a few extra dollars today, but lose credibility and turn off readers long-term. How does that help them. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one...ie fools.

I hear you but that leaves me having to believe that someone whose entire full time job for several decades has been to cover the NHL doesn't know that Eric Staal won a Cup. That's a tough one to swallow. It's a real dilemma.
