I was in a debate with multiple people a few weeks ago about when the best time to trade major pieces of the team would be. I went with history and said draft or summer would bring in more than at the trade deadline.... looks like that theme continues... The cap is a real hurdle at TDL across the league. I don't know why people like Nucker think otherwise...

I think you're right. Long gone are the days of GMs being desperate to pay too much for a guy to compete for the cup. The cap stifles things.

It was cute that Bo came out and said this should be a statement game and pulled a Loui Eriksson by being invisible at 5v5 and scoring an empty net goal, plus using his 215 pound game to throw zero hits in a statement game.
A truly inspiring leader |

It’s not the cap that stifles things. It’s stupid GM’s that stifle things. And the vast majority of the league has stupid GM’s. |

Well I would argue the stupid GMs would trade more first rounders for players if a cap wasn't tying their hands on completing the deals. |

Great final half of the game yesterday to salt away the win. Always love to see Petey finish when his shoot it going. He looked like Naslund last night. |

Ty Carol
Older teams could still make a splash. Bruins Caps & others that feel are one more piece to get over the hump others like the Rags to go for it now & still have deep prospects. |

5v5 is a good way of measuring players. PP points skew the reality & just looking at +/- gives a better indicator. Players like Bergeron & Crosby are great playing in all situations & produce. Bo is in some sorta funk or slightly injured or just in a malaise with revolving door wingers. His playmaking is in question sure he’s a bull but it hasn’t been evident in awhile.
