I like this trade for both teams. Avalanche get the type of player you want to go to battle with in a playoff series. Anaheim gets a young prospect and 2nd rounder.
I'm Okay with this. Josh Manson was a good player for the Ducks. He played hard. And I thought he really earned the contract we gave him. This is starting to make me sad though. Losing Manson, Rackell, Lindholm will be the biggest trade deadline loses since we traded Teemu Selanne. And I don't really get all the Ducks fans who are celebrating all these trades. It feels like they have played to many video games. Because all these trades are gonna set back the Ducks rebuild at least 1 or 2 years. And I know we need more top 6 fowards. But there's always a cost for trading out good players from your roster.
We are getting dangerously close to becoming a perpetual rebuild team. All it would take for this to.happen would be for the Ducks to miss on a couple of first round picks. And what we are doing would be comparable to taking your savings account and betting it an a outcome of a sports game. I mean the Ducks scouting department has done a good job so far. But do we really wana keep pushing our luck. Or are some of you supposedly Ducks fans really ok with being like the Sabers, Coyotes, Devils, Oilers.
