Forsberg wasn't really tested and it has me wondering if the Jets had that classic letdown after a big win the game prior. Who knows? But this Jets team is far too inconsistent and they've had too many of these types of games, which will most likely be their undoing when they miss the playoffs by 4 or 5 points. Teams gotta bank the gimme points at this time of year. |

Forsberg wasn't tested very much at all. As I mentioned, Ehlers was the only Jets player who was consistent last night. Have to hope the Jets bounce back big against Columbus tonight. I assume Comrie will get the start, and the Jets play a lot better offensively in front of Comrie for some reason. Likely because they want to keep as much pressure on the opposition and away from Comrie, not even because they don't trust him, but mainly because he only plays a few games a month, if that! |

This was not a let down game after a big win, the last game was a stinker also that happened to be a win against a division rival.
Not a one-off bad period, it was the third consecutive game with a grossly lopsided period that happened while the Jets are ‘fighting for’ their playoff lives.
The team has shown no ability to fix the defensive gaffes and worse- there is no pulse to measure or be hopeful for.
This is a leadership that is not prepared for the battles that face, change the coaching staff- few will argue. Change GM, gaining momentum, Replace the board chairman Chipman with a ‘hockey’ person. Get it done. |

A new coaching staff is definitely #1. All of the things you listed come with a new staff (or should at least), and I think that having 2-3 of the defenseman shipped out for some young guys to play is a good idea for next year. Settle the team down, take a year to look at what you have, and play the young guys in bigger roles, accumulate some more picks for 2023, and go from there. Connor, Ehlers, Perfetti, Dubois round out a great top-six, and thats not including Mark Scheifele, who is an elite talent, that is struggling right now. On defense, with JoMo, Pionk, and maybe one of DeMelo or Dillon sticking around, you are one big piece away from an amazing top-4. Whether that be Heinola panning out great, or trading some pieces for Chychrun to bolster that blue line, they are only a few pieces and some changes away from being elite, and young |

Well the Jackets are without their top 2 goalies now, so the Jets will get an inexperience goalie tonight.

The Jets emailed me today to remind me that today is the deadline to reserve my playoff seats.....WHAT A JOKE !
Fire the whole coaching staff in the off-season.

Problem being the 21/22Jets can make an inexperienced goalie look like George Vezina! lol |

As I posted a while back and I agree with you about the defensive pairs Jacob.
Get rid of Morrissey, Pionk, Schmidt, Dillon and Demelo. Time to bring up Kovacevic, Samberg, Heinola, Gawanke and Chisholm. |

This team had a chance to trade players like Stastny, Demelo, Schmidt, Toninato and Pionk at the deadline while their return would be at its highest but instead picked up prospect blockers Brooks, Sanford and Appleton. They also have to get rid of this coaching staff and hirer a decent head coach by the draft. This team has some very good players upfront but is a mess in their own zone. |

The Jets were in a tough spot heading into the deadline. Just a couple games away from playoffs, and you always wants to make the playoffs when you have the chance. I don't think that trading Pionk is a good move for the Jets, though I do think he has disappointed a little this year, relative to the last few seasons, for him, but I do think he has tremendous upside that will be a big part of this team. Brooks, hard to complain about picking up a free asset you can utilize, and Sanford and Appleton are decent pick-ups for their price in case the team does start winning.
I dont blame Chevy for doing what he did, but it would be nice for the Jets to pick a direction and commit to it. I don't really know how else to put it

Keeping small, timid, stick checking defenders again next season is no recipe for success. Moving them at the draft their return won't be as good as it would be at the trade deadline.

I'm not seeing anything from Brooks that tells me that he should be on the team.
I know he doesn't get much ice time, but I'd like to see a sign that there is something there. |

Which is why Niku is gone, and Heinola is not a good fit at this time.

Was Scheifele a healthy scratch last night? |

Surprised that not much attention is being paid to Kyle Connor. He’s the first 40/40 player is Jets 2.0 history. |

Quietly goes about his business. Nice job on his part. Jets needed that OT win tonight but man they almost blew it with the last PP goal by CLB. |

I saw him tend to Zaitsev when he took the puck off the mouth and blood was everywhere. Shcheifel went over to him to see if he was ok.

I would totally do that! Not that I think anything bad of them. I just think the young guys need to be given a chance. |

He also scored two goals this year that no one noticed were in the net, including one at the all-star game. His consistency is flat out amazing and yet somehow he keeps getting overlooked and underestimated.

Also, keeping tall big guys who can’t move a puck, are to slow, can’t get the puck out of our zone is not working, nor has it ever.
I wish!!! Wish!! Heinola would be given the same length of rope Stanely is being given. Why this team looks the other way on Stanley when he makes mistake after mistake and drags down every D he plays with is ridiculous. But hey, he has one good game every 15-20 so ya, stay the course lol.
I absolutely guarantee 1000% if Heinola would’ve been treated the same as Stanley this year and give Stanley’s ice time and patience he’d be miles ahead right now. Miles!!!!!!!!!!! |

He’s definitely joined some elite company. The only other player that is currently at 40/40 this season is Leon Draisatl. I was just looking at all the 40/40 players since the inception on Jets 2.0 and the following players have done 40/40 seasons:
2020-21:
No One
2019-20:
Leon Draisatl
David Pastrank
2018-19:
Nikita Kucherov
Connor McDavid
Patrick Kane
Leon Draisatl - He actually had a 50/50 season
Nathan Mackinnon
Steven Stamkos
Brayden Point
John Tavares
2017-18:
Connor MacDavid
Evgeni Malkin
2016-17
Sidney Crosby
Nikita Kucherov
2015-16:
Patrick Kane
Jamie Benn

2013-14:
Nobody
2012-13:

2011-12:

It’s actually quite elite company that KFC has joined! He’s only the 20th player in the last 10 years to accomplish this. |

That’s a cool stat, thanks for sharing!!
It’s why I have more patience for his defensive lapses than I do others |
