Honestly when it comes to look at Oiler stats this year it is pretty darn hard to figure out just what the team is.

Our first third of the year we were on fire, then the team spiralled out of control and appeared to be trying to get the coach fired. Now under Woodcroft things are once again going very well.

Looking from Feb 11th and on this team was quite different.

Now to see if the team has learned from previous year's playoff mistakes.

Definitely looked like a world beater in the last third of the season. This series is going to be a long hard fought one. Especially if game one is any indication of how things will go.

Won 2 of the 3 periods. That spell in the first ~15 minutes of the 3rd was excellent, big boy hockey. Really good movement on the power play, but they need to convert...as everyone in black and white (and sometimes silver) has said for the past 82 games, too.

Kings: living rent free in Mike Smith's head since WCF '12.

Not sure if we won 2/3 periods. Obviously from a goals standpoint, yes. But there were also long stretch where it seemed like they were barely hanging on.

First couple of PP’s that first unit was doing almost nothing and the 2nd unit was trying to make the perfect play. And the PK will have to be a lot better and the boys need to stay out of the box (hard when the calls they were making against the Kings were super soft.

Second, AA seemed timid to me. Like he has almost never played a playoff game and didn’t know what to do about the intensity level. Grundstrom played well, glad he was given the opportunity and hopefully he stays in despite RV coming back.

Finally, Kopi will not be able to play that much if we want him to be productive and successful moving forward. Although I understand that almost no one else is going to be able to cover Mickie D.
