Rangers need to get pucks deep & forecheck much more than they did in the 2nd/3rd/OTs. Get shots on net, hard and low with traffic. Stop the E/W passes on the blue line when there is pressure. |

We need the third line to be better, they need to produce.
Gotta see how Panarin plays tonight, if he doesnt have that jump, he still might be hurting from his injury.
I hope we light up Louie tonight!!! |

Thought third line was pretty good the other night. They did produce, it just was taken off the board
Agree on Panarin. Legs were fine, shot and willingness to shoot, not so much |

The boarding call on Trouba was the killer. Created 5-on-3, allowing Pitt to tie it. Four penalties for the whole game isn’t bad, but compared to Pitt only having one, the variance looks vast |

really the penalty that was initially a major on Lindgren reduced to a minor shouldnt have been a penalty at all and that started the 2nd period short handed and set up the period for Penguins controlling the play

Agree on the E/W thing - gotta stay away from the extra cute pass and just get it on net. Pepper Domingue with traffic all over. I think we'll see a strong bounce back tonight. LGR! |

Great note on the different goalie glove hands for Pittsburgh, definitely something a lot of fans wouldn't think of (never thought of Domi's hand, only DeSmith and Jarry). |

I highly doubt Gallant puts Jones in, as he hadn’t showed much confidence in him to date. But anything is possible |

All comes down to special teams. We are better 5v5 since the deadline but our bread (no pun intended) and butter is our PP. It's not viable to win with only 2 min of PP time per game, especially when the opponent is getting 4x that. Some of that is on us, most of that is simply the refs swallowing their whistle for the Pens. Conspiracy theories are largely dumb and toxic but in this case I guess I am putting on my tinfoil hat. The calls just seem to go the Pens way 9/10 times. 100+ minutes of hockey and they had ONE penalty. That is unrealistic, especially considering the petulant nature of some of their players. Also, we have to keep being as physical as we were in the first period of the last game. It will wear them down. Guentzel should be put on his ass every time he's out there putting people in headlocks |

Which is exactly why the rangers should prioritize getting under their skin. Once they’re off their game they are done. Pretty much how we beat them the last few times in the playoffs. Rangers should be targeting players like Letang and Malkin. |

Agreed. That's why I would keep Reaves in the lineup to hit everything that moves to wear them down both physically and mentally. Make them look over their shoulders every shift. |

Yeah I know you’ll stick with the goalies fault angle it makes it more palatable. Couple that with the islanders ability to keep the front of the net clear and yes get the pens top players off their games. It’s nothing ground breaking it’s part of most teams game plan In the PO’s. |

I also think Dryden Hunt returns to lineup, but it's not definite that its at the expense of Reaves...

...allowing a quick cross ice pass from D to neutral zone. Once that happened, the Pena were off to the races and needed just one more dish for a golden opportunity,...
Is that the plural of penis? If so, nice work, Jan!! |
