Bill, you've mentioned Jim Montgomery in the past as a HC candidate. Any more viable candidate insights? Next HC has to elevate the play of the young players on cheap contracts - ie York, Tippett, Cates. Frost. Possibly others like Attard, Brink, Zamula. |

No surprise the Lindblom/Thompson/Mac line absolutely sucked at xGF.
What is interesting is JVR on multiple combinations that have good xGF (except one). I wish he made $4M instead of $7M.
Willman/Frost/Mayhew is the shutdown line lol |

Bill if your not expecting a big jump in point production then the flyers will likely be on the same spot no?
At the end of the day it is about bottom line production. Frost and Tippet have to produce or the flyers are in trouble. Don't need to hear how good they played. As well as the phantom p/60 stats and other stats.
Hopefully the clancy nomination enhances Laughton's trade value.....nah he plays flyers hockey. Need to keep him. Core player. |

I still believe Laughton will be Captain if he is not traded this offseason. |

he will not be traded. Sadly the GM has tunnel vision with him as well as others.

Rough going for the goalies so far in the playoffs. Carolina and Pittsburgh both on 3rd options already. |

My expectation is for them to be productive middle-six forwards at 5-on-5 and contributors on an improved power play (nowhere to bit but up). Not asking for anything outrageous. |

Not far away. But I see him as a good bottom 6 type. |

points wise what is your expectation for both in terms of goals and assist.

Management needs to read the book
Atomic Habits.
Let's start there, small little fixes. |

Can the F-T-C line generate 100 points combined as a 3rd line?

Does actually producing not matter? Good sign but the puck has to go into the net. If we are half way through the season and the line has good underlying numbers that’s great but if they don’t score it doesn’t matter. |

If they were 26 or older yes it would matter but the fact is, these are young kids in their early 20s in their first few seasons in the NHL. So right now playing the right way and generating chances is what matters most. The rest will come over time. Frost lost development time. He is likely to be a late bloomer. I cant speak for Tippett since I havent really followed his career but I expect he's a little further ahead of Frost in terms of development or at least should be.

It DOES matter, tho. Generating more chances and spending more time in the ozone means you're playing less defense, giving up fewer goals, forcing the other team to expend more energy chasing after you.
Chuck touched on it in the presser... the Flyers spent way too much time defending this year and that exposed all their team weaknesses.
With that said, yeah... guys like Tippett, JVR and Atkinson needed to finish more chances off. But having lines with positive process is always a good sign. |

When it goes on for 30-40-full seasons it doesn’t. Think about the beginning of this year, there was a line of Laughton Lindblom and I forget the third player. Phenomenal underlying numbers but not goals to show. This went on for 15 games or so and guess what, we desperately needed actual production, we were out of the playoff picture by late November. |

Frost has been a supposed to be for a while now, be nice for it to not just be potential. At some point you have to actually produce. |
