Really impressed with Edmonton last night, not just that they won but the way they won. They played physical and were willing to pay the price in this series. They are going to be a tough out depending on the health of Draisaitl. |

Even mcdavid was physical last night. I didn't cheer for either team but there has been a bunch of GREAT hockey games so far this post season!
After having to watch the flyers this past season I had completely forgotten how much fun hockey is when you watch a team that has talent and that play like a team
The flyers are no where close to this level of play. Not even a little bit |

I actually thought the Leafs played very well, Vasey and Hedman were just too much last night. |

Tampa bay did a great job of keeping them outside. look at the last 3 minutes. Did Toronto even have a quality chance? |

It was a great series. Could have gone either way. The Lightning did a great close out job, befitting of a two-time defending champion. TBH, in Game 1 through 6, I thought Toronto was the better team overall.
The Maple Leafs have had some great players and a few very good teams that were capable of a Cup final/ Cup championship over the last 55 years. It's all about peaking at the right time, the matchups, and a little bit of good luck in terms of staying healthy and picking off a game or two that come down to a bounce of the puck.
That said, I am pleased by the result. Toronto is not just 18 years removed from their last playoff series win, they are now 55 years and counting from their list trip to the Stanley Cup Final (as well as their last Stanley Cup championship). Zero trips to the Cup Final since the NHL expanded from six to 12 teams. There's still an arrogance about that org, IMO. |

So another first round exit.
My first thought was who is Toronto going to move to change the team dynamic. I know people say Nylander, but I can see them moving Marner. He makes what? $10, almost 11 per? Toronto has almost $40 million between Mathews, Marner , Nylander and Tavares. Something has to give.
Marner would bring alot of skill to the Flyers, and I think we would have the assets to be able to make it work both for Toronto and Philly.
Not interested in Nylander or Tavares, and Matthews is untouchable. |

No…just a lot of disappointment. Tough first round match up, but there may be some personnel changes on the horizon….after Reilly and Muzzin the D lacked. Giordano played well and may stick around. They may be that team that’s ‘one’ player away. Not sure if MLSE let’s Dubas run it back for another year. |

Well it’s tough to find that other player when half your salary cap is invested in 4 guys and not all of them contribute when it matters. People can talk about a bounce here or there, they were the better team, but this is 6 years in a row of a first round exit. Something needs to change. |

They are so friggin arrogant that it makes it very easy to root against them. I thoroughly have enjoyed their failures over the years and I still cherish the moment that JR quieted that crowd with that game 6 OT winner in 2004!! It's amazing that they haven't won ONE playoff series since that deflating defeat. Looks good on them though!

And then add in several more assets (including another 1st) to another team to take a cap dump so they could fit Marner under the salary cap. Trading for Marner would be an utterly stupid move by CF. Of course, it was a series of stupid moves and extensions he did that got us in this situation. This team has no other option than to start the rebuild, as the JVR, Hayes, Risto, Atkinson and Couturier contracts run their course. |

My thoughts exactly, HRR needs a boost..... also with TV ads for gambling "in game" ya never really know do you?
On a side note, I am rooting for Rags tonight..
Why?
The Rags never tanked multiple years and eras to get draft picks, never threatened to move if they did not get a new arena and then forced the state to pay for it when their casino sponsor flopped. For whatever arrogance NYC and the team may have at different times, they paid their own way and contributed $$$ to all the little sisters of the poor franchises on continual life support.
