A new attitude is great, but it ain't gonna grant hockey sense to Ristolainen, teach Hayes to effectively use his linemates, find the real offensive talent that this team so badly lacks or the top pair Dman it really needs.

All Tortorella's "standard" will do is raise at bottom five team to a team that finishes in the 8-10 range in the East. Sadly, that will only harm the team in the long run as management is just unable to grasp the fact that this team needs a complete rebuild from the ground up. Not just on the ice, but in the front office, developmental staff and medical/training staffs as well.

The way this team is currently being operated, no coach will be able to return it to contention.

Flyers fans don't give a turd about style. They want a good team. The nostalgia over Clarke & Co. is tired. Let Torts do his thing without that yoke. Give him multiple years and be patient. He'll turn the franchise around.

Torts will bring accountability and hopefully he can find a system that will work with the talent or lack of talent in Philly? No matter what Torts does, we still need Fletcher to make some good moves this off season.

Torts is not the solution, but he is a fine addition to help. I'm amazed how many want this team to fail, yet the same names, day after day, post after post on the Flyers pages just saying what a crap team/franchise/ownership we have. Most Flyers fans are disappointed since the Snider days, but for the love of god give the negativity a rest, Is this team improving and "costing us a better draft pick" really a bad thing?

Torts is fine as a short term crack the whip coach but how many are going to want out/be traded because they wont/dont want to play for him?! Interesting to watch.

Failure to identify the relevant team status is arguably the worst thing an NHL organization can do. The merry go round of mediocrity will drag the Flyers right back here by 2026. Being stuck in purgatory is the absolute worst status an NHL organization can have.

Ditka has 1 ring as a head coach and it was early in his career where he road that one championship to a long coaching career. That is pretty much exactly like Torterella. He won a cup in 2004, hasn’t done anything since but keeps getting jobs, why? Because of that one ring and his name, exactly like Ditka.

Said it before, this is an inferior Tampa team to the one that won the last 2 years. It's a shell of it's former self and Vasy has been dog poop for most of the year not just in these playoffs.
