Now I got to wonder if PD was playing chess all along instead of checkers. Maybe he used the threat of a Murray deal for the 7th overall as a way to get Chicago to get off the pot? Like he knew Murray had Sabres on no trade list?

Formenton isn't a top 6 but he's got bigger issues to deal with this summer anyways. There was a reason PD had nothing to say about Formenton's contract negotiations yesterday when PD commented on every other player that was an RFA or UFA.

I would have preferred a big body. Sens need to challenge for a playoff spot and need to find the Dman upgrade that will make them a tough out every night.

- Sign DeBrincat
- Move Zaitsev
- Bring in Top 4 D
It's alot harder to find a free agent defencemen than a forward. I really wish they used the 7th to shore up the D. |

Its a great move short term, for 2 years....because he ain't getting signed by Ottawa for 9-10M in 2 years.

What's to stop them from flipping him again for picks and players, after he goes for 50+ this yr... which I think he will easily with the Sens.

This is a great deal and shows a willingness to compete this year. Really pleased with the value. 40 goal scorers do not grow on trees and only turns 25 in December. And right hand shot which has the Gord_Wilson2.0 seal of approval.
